rotate Woah just came back to check up on replies and it all kicks off again!

Thanks for those who replied with valid queries. I need to go and test drive one but I may just have to keep the 458 too and add to the collection as I just love the darn thing too much to trade it in.

You have no opinion. Everything that you post on here is purely regurgitated from whatever McLaren review you have just knocked one out to. You bang on about having unique insight in supercars after 25 years 'in the trade' and yet I don't actually recall a single supercar Kia have ever made, so that's a bit like boasting about having 25 years engineering experience because you work at B&Q.

You demonstrate nothing but a superficial knowledge of anything supercar related, copying and pasting the term 'carbon tub' into every repetitive, cringe worthy post doesn't count. And yet you seem to genuinely believe you're some sort of supercar guru on here. Anyone with any true love of supercars and the actual driving of them, wouldn't have bought two near identical cars either. What sort of dim witted moron buys a 650S then a 570S to squeeze into the tiny garage next to it when there is such an array of exceptional, varied machinery on offer? Maybe it's just to spice things up a bit in the garage....

Despite countless requests from fellow contributors on here for you to 'give it a rest', you continue to post the same drivel, deliberately wind people up and make frequent, pathetic references to your wealth and assets, I have news for you, no one cares. You don't impress anyone with your school yard "I'm richer than you" nonsense... which I'm sure is inherited or won anyway seeing as Kia don't exactly pay their customer service reps supercar salaries.

How you don't feel like the world's biggest bellend is beyond me, I would feel downright embarrassed by what most people on almost every car forum think of you. I can't believe you haven't been banned by now... "IMHO".

I apologize to other contributors on here for my rant and for feeding the RL troll again. I'm sure that this post will reflect negatively on me for getting personal but so be it, if I get banned then it's no big loss, this place has gone downhill since RL started posting anyhow.
In his defence hee hasn't mentioned Carbon tub or values.

OP, I kind of get what Phoenix was saying. A lambo has a lot more character to it than a 458, its the reason why I choose one over one and a 650s/12C/GT3 RS. Do it. You'll probably love it.

I for one love reading limbo rimbos comments ! It cheers me up no end that he can't control himself on a keyboard 🎹

Come on guys it's clear that if you had a brain you buy a mac 650s and a 570. Having driven both I will give him credit they are bloody good but having 2 similar machines wouldn't be my choice. The huracan makes a noise whereas neither mac does. That's my only real complaint aka turbo robbed motor sound.

I would be interested to hear why some here think the 458 was not engageing versus a huracan which I appreciate sounds better and is newer. I've driven a few 458s and been extremely impressed with them. I've pretty much lost interest in gallardos now for some reason.

I test drove a 570 a few weeks ago, very impressed but just don't want one. No particular reason they're a great car but they just don't do it for me. The 650 is the same for me, I know it's one of the best cars out there but they don't give me a buzz.
The 458 is a great car and I prefer its looks to the 650 and 570, I'd have another without the seconds hesitation if I hadn't driven and owned a couple of Lambo's.
For me it's purely personal , I feel the Lambo is just about having a good time and have a lot of character and as mentioned they make a great noise.
Sure there will be loads of 720's and Performantes dashing down the 1/4 mile over the next few weeks and I'm confident the Mac will spank everything off the line, but frankly I couldn't care less, it's absolutely irrelevant to me.
Each to their own!

We've all heard it before and we know who said it but...

You buy a Ferrari when you want to be somebody. You buy a Lamborghini when you are somebody.

I honestly don't think I'd buy another Ferrari ever again. Too much tat associated with them now. McLaren's are too clinical for my taste.

Lamborghini's aren't the best but they don't need to be for me...

I'm with in that 458 is hopefully my next step but curious other than a better mouse out the huracan as to why it feels better ! I think I need a test drive ! Hoping the huracan doesn't break the dream of a 458 for me as I think it is light, reactive and reasonably chuck-able

Has Rambo gone ?!

considering they are are in the same bracket I'd argue that Lamborghinis are more prone to being bought by those who crave even more attention.

an Aventador in a bright colour gets so much attention it's unreal, it's a ball ache really

Tbf, Lambo and Ferrari are pretty much on a par, with McLaren snapping away at their heels.

Handling on the 458 is not great. A video posted on PH a few weeks ago shows one crashing at slow speed on a straight dry road.

The rear-end of the Huracan is rather unattractive. Needs an aftermarket wing to make it look better.

Worth considering an Aventador or Gallardo LP Superleggera as alternatives.

In my experience mostly you buy a Ferrari if you want to talk about watches and theoretical lap times, Lamborghini people tend to be less serious and just enjoy driving their cars.

Most Ferrari owners think whatever Ferrari they own (insert model) is the best car in the world and will tell you so, also they tend to like dressing head to foot in Ferrari branded stuff so they can recognise that they are a Ferrari owner.

Yes i am joking, well kind of wink

Isn't the whole point of a supercar how it makes you feel? You can't drive them much faster than each other for 99% of the time due to traffic, road conditions and speed limits anyway so you might as well buy the one that tugs your heart strings while you sit in it, even if it isn't the fastest/ most agile/ most modern. smile

This I agree with.
While talking about cost of ownership I'd say the Lambo is going to be considerably more expensive to maintain. A near new 458 will be covered for the first four years of its life under Ferrrarii service plan while obviously the Lambo will not. To date my Lambo service bills have been a lot more than my Ferrari's of the past!

First supercar I bought was a 2008 Gallardo Spyder. Was up against the F430 at the time. I smiled a LOT in the G, not quite as much in the F. That's what swung it for me. Saving my pennies for a Huracan Spyder now or possibly a 720S. Whichever makes me smile the most will get my money smile

Personally I think the Huracan Spyder is the best looking convertible on the market!

I'm probably going to stick with McLaren for the next car but have owned both L and F. I had an LP560 which definitely had an edgier feel than my 430 but strangely I just didn't gel in the Huracan, and I fully expected to buy one before I test drove it.

We're all different and all these cars are fantastic so ultimately drive what you enjoy most.

While I do get the point about Ferrari drivers and their badged shoes and what have you it is still only a subset of owners. I go to a local meet near me with a varied bunch of F cars and you couldn't get a nicer set of people, nothing like the stereotype.

Its a good looking car and roof down I would agree with you totally.

If only it had a metal folding roof though. The cloth roofline compromises the car with internal height to retain a good look but I think a further compromise in weight for a metal roof would of definitely been worth it.

Cloth roofs these days seem so old hat IMHO

I also disagree, the 458 is a fine handling car. I'd like to see the video!

And I'll make it three - the 458 is very well behaved on the limit.

The videos you see of drivers going off the road I think are the result of inexperience of sliding vehicles - stability control or not you need the front wheels pointing in the right direction - especially when the ESC recovers the grip.
