Anyone that's driven one, how easy will a Performante be to live with day to day?

Ask the guy that took one on a test drive last week and binned it smile Was meant to be testing drive it on Saturday but couldn't.

Apparently it's meant to be OK at just pottering around if that's your thing. Though if your going to use it as a daily don't spec the carbon buckets, well that's what I was advised.

If you watch the record HP Ring lap and compare it with the slower 918 laps, you'll see the ALA makes a big difference in slower and bumpier corners. Gets the power down better than any other car on the planet right now.
So with Lambo upping its game we can expect big premiums on the Performante then ? Previous special editions haven't quite lived up to Ferrari or McLarens editions like Speciale and LT
I'd expect small premiums but nothing daft but I reckon residuals will be very strong as Lamborghini are trickling these out slowly unlike the original Huracan. I'm quoted late next year if I order one now!

I was told potentially 18 months! I'm considering the HP as an eventual replacement for my 650S, but wondering whether I might just be better getting a standard Huracan (probably used). The bronze wheels etc look ace though.

The standard car is very very good regardless of what bull%%% is written on these forums, for 150-160k you can get a good spec car that'll be as quick as anything else on the road and still have the Lambo looks and presence.

I was quoted beginning/middle of Q1 2019 though it could be quicker. Worth the wait though as it looks superb in the flesh, has real presence.

With Brexit coming and interest rates rising, doubt anything will see big gains for now. Early offers on US HPs are quoting a 10-20% premium to list price at the moment.

There are a couple of imminent deliveries being touted round at the moment, one I've seen the spec sheet for is asking a £25k premium for a car specced ~£258k

I'd agree with the lack of gains in the supercar world but more due to the saturation of the market with "the latest thing" more so than Brexit or interest rates, I think both will happen very gradually and be absorbed into day to day life, hopefully anyway. I really don't see any cliff edges regardless of what the pessimists on here say. On the other hand if nobody is going to be making petrol engines in a few years perhaps all IC engines will become collectable!

Had a great test drive, fabulous car, probably too hardcore as a daily for the majority. Car arrives in November and really looking forward to this one. Lambo have upped their game imho.

Maybe I just don't understand but why buy a car that someone else spec'd and at 25K over just to have the latest toy rather than just wait and spec your own to your own personal tastes?

depends how long you want to wait, whether you want to build a relationship with a dealer and how fussy you are about spec, £25k is nothing imo

True but I have found half the fun is speccing it then argue with the wife over colour. Apparently Viola SE30th isn't allowed frown

Agree with all the above but we live in a world of convenience and instant gratification, it's just what value you put on that really.

Most of the cars that are "flipped" are always planned to be and many find a buyer while they're still spec changeable, that said you still can't have the experience of visiting the dealer/factory but at least you can spec it to taste.

The Performante was announced just as I was spec'ing my Huracan at the end of last year and I was asked if I wanted to switch my order.

In the end I decided to stay with the regular version. On the plus side for the Performante was likely higher residuals and pub bragging rights. On the downside, and I know this is subjective, I thought it was just too bling for me - a bit like a motoring equivalent of a diamond edition Breitling watch. I also thought there was a greater likelihood of my wife agreeing to trips away in the regular version.

If you plan on serious track work then I see the appeal of the Performante but I am fortunate enough to have a proper race car for that.

I have had my Huracan for a few months now and the one thing I do not yearn for on the road is more power and/or grip although there is a little irrational part of my brain that wonders whether I made the right choice.

There was some chat earlier on this posting about changing specs before delivery. My experience from trying to add an option a week or so after my order went in was that this was not possible and that the spec is locked in pretty much immediately the order gets to the factory.

I was at Imola with Lamborghini a few weeks ago, driving all the v10's.

Performante was incredibly stable and confidence inspiring on track, compared to the 610-4.

It also feels noticeably faster, in addition to being generally more ferocious, as you would expect.

I went for Giallo Inti - hope to have the car for summer.
