Well the problem is there isn't another 50th for sale so don't know how to value it. Somewhere in between a MK2 SL and an LP560-4 would be my rough guess.

Car was never bought for an investment, was bought because I really wanted a lambo. The amount of fun and pleasure I have had from driving it can't be measured in cash. Dream come true kind of thing and regardless of how life turns out I've at least achieved one of my main life goals in owning a supercar.

Still want the 458 though so let's see what happens

Price it at a similar spec 560-4 & that should bring interest.

No price will just bring traders & the usual SOR firms.

Trying to shift mine. Not one bid. Nada. Nothing. zilch.

Been told of a Performante spyder (Gallardo) that has been hanging around for a year with zero interest in it.
Zero bids or zero offers close to asking ??

Todays "private sale" market is all about the price, rarity not as big a deal as it was this time last year........they are potential customers about, but they appear to have a short list of make and models, so no longer precious about one single car, so your car is competing with many other cars (not just lambos).

Advertised my car (Mclaren) for a month, and got a couple of calls a week (it was about the cheapest), dropped the price by 3% (to make it clearly the cheapest) had 8 calls in 48 hours and sold by the end of the week for about 5% less than the original price (to a dealer) who then sold it within a week for £10k more.

Thanks for the info chaps. It's my first Supercar sale so maybe I am being a bit naïve about it all.

Still want this 458 though so hopefully I'll be in something new (to me) soon biggrin

Thread resurrection.

After a recent disastrous foray into R8 ownership, I am wavering about what car to buy. Whilst as RE Performance for an inspection report on the R8, I couldn’t help but be impressed by the Gallardos that were in the work shop.

"Beyond my budget" I thought and left it alone.

Then this Gallardo pops up at £60k. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

Unfortunately, a deposit has already been taken on this one. However, it got me wondering whether it is possible to get into Gallardo ownership at around the £60k mark.

For the low end of the market, one expects to face a programme of sorting issues over time, to add value back into the car. However, I am interested in your views as to whether it might be possible to find a Gallardo at this sort of money without major issues. Any thoughts welcome. If this is pure fantasy, I'd rather know now and explore other vehicles.
Look's like this car has popped up again at the same dealer. Perhaps failed a PPI, or deal fell through.

At first glance there are a number of concerns I would have with that car.

1. Panel gaps daw the left side of the bonnet and the wing and left side of front of bonnet and nose cone.
2. Interior looking shabby in general, especially driver’s seat, but I guess given age and mileage may be expected.
3. Engine looks less than pristine, especially left inlet manifold cover.

However, it is 14 years old! But I would definitely have it inspected before buying it.q

i think all the older models are struggling to sell. Let us not forget that prices went up or at least stayed firm for the last 3-5 yrs and the general hype and overspend economy is pulling back a bit.
i was thinking of putting my 07 F430 up for sale but now the season is coming to an end, Ive missed the boat i think and although i would like to go into a 458 or murcielago, if my f430 takes a knock on price then so too will the 458 etc. Its only the properly rare stuff that will stay high i.e. Im meaning Pagani, Laferrari, enzo etc

the other issue is of course that PCP deals are making it very easy to go in to a 1-5 yr old car with little deposit which Im sure is tempting people into Huracans and Mc 570s etc versus buying an older car like my f430 or a gallardo where you are more likely to have bought it cash.

This made me chuckle..!

'this storm' is just normal depreciation and supply exceeding demand.

Values are all going one way and I don't see this changing any time soon.

If there was a way to short the used Lambo market I'd be all in - but failing that if anybody disagrees with my assessment then let's make a wager!

(I'm speaking as a G Performante owner so in some ways of course I wish it ( the current market) wasn't the case..... but then I bought this car to drive & have fun with - not as an investment.)
