Hi Guys,

Am reviewing a Gallardo's service history and invoices on a private sale at the moment. There seems to be a high consumption of plugs and coils in general. Over 16k miles and 8 years (most invoices from about 08/09 onwards 35k miles onwards) there have been a number of changes and o2 sensors being replaced etc , which leads me to believe its running rich or poorly. it has a Tubi backbox exhaust but from the paperwork can't be more than a cat back system, and is supposed to have been remapped by DMS. No evidence to support this currently.

So i suppose is this common? if not could not re-map be the issue? A clutch was changed in 09 at 35k and a new one has been put in this year at 51k , 16k does not seem that long on a clutch even for a manual G. The history is ok a little patchy, I list it ...... thoughts?

04 1119
06 7141
06 16197
07 24763
08 31215
08 35470 - Clutch installed
Big gap - Re service stamp , but invoices for oil changes etc during this period
13 44398
15 49218
16 51411
17 51562 current miles , new clutch installed , completely respray done during 2017 same colour.

Mot history cross references fine , current owner the last 8 years. With invoices and general oil changes etc during 08-13, parts being replaced etc.

Its a fair price and the milage at 51k does not really worry me I'd prefer a car thats used than sat around, also she's 13 years old now so hardly high annual milage. its looks from the invoices to be relativity well maintained , no suspension invoices which is a concern as its been an advisory a number of times on the MOT history. Steering rack overhaul was done in 2013.

I suppose i had some concerns about the coils , plugs and o2 sensor issues... whether this is typical or infact and underlining issue?

Also any independents who could do an inspection on a car in Glasgow?

Thanks in advance

Paza

For me, it all comes down to price and what you want from the car.

How much is the difference between buying this car and a similar decent straight car? is the difference worth the worry? if it isn't, then buy the original car. If it is, then pay the difference for a straight car.

Is this a car which is currently being advertised for sale? the cheapest ones currently for sale are around £70k. You say this car is a fair price, but what do you class as being a 'fair price' ?

Am not suggesting it its not a genuine car , am going to ask for the Dot dates on the tyres as there was an invoice in 2013/14 when the tyres were replaced.. this will give me a real indication if there is any foul play... knowing the average tyre life span there "should" still be on the car based on the milage. It has some good points as well new clutch refreshed paint, however your right its about weighting it all up and deciding whats best.

I think an inspection at Lambo main dealer or specialist is essential, to investigate some of my concerns

The nearest Lamborghini dealership is 1hr away in Edinburgh. (Sytner Group).
