The Urus is the most desirable SUV on the planet right now. It is at the top of the tree.

The days of wacky V12 experiments that nearly bankrupt the company are long gone. People need to move on.

Yes, the Urus is a rebadged Cayenne. But think of it this way -- Usain Bolt and Fatman Scoop are 99.9% the same... but the 0.1% that makes all the difference sets them miles apart...
is it actually based on a Cayenne?

No, but Yipper never lets the truth or anything sensible get in the way of a post.

It's got the same engine, suspension, gearbox, rear-diff, anti-roll bars, and rear-steering system.

Apart from that, they're completely different.

The Rolls Royce SUV will out bling this. Different cars obviously but will attract the same peacocks.

Never you mind

Thought it was just the same chassis. Cayenne, q7 and this.

Chassis is the Q7 / Bentayga one and lots of bits carried over from Bentayga wouldn’t be suprised if the engine is the very similar to Bentley V8 which funny enough is very similar to RS6 and are all good with a map for 700 hp.

Car is all about how it delivers though despite similarities. It’s the setup and feel that will determine it.

Well that and pricing, I think it’s too much personally and I’m a big Lambo fan, but at this level it all about emotion of how it makes you feel and historically stuff that doesn’t try and kill you or look beautiful does not fare well.

OK, road-muscle SUVs are pointless but kinda fun.

But I would buy a 2018 RRS SVR with 575 bhp and pocket the 100+K difference.

I am just not sure about Urus. I want to love it. But to me Lambo represents something more special than a rapid SUV, even Super SUV as I have seen it referenced as. People were dismayed with Porsche for bringing out Cayenne at the time, but what a massive success for the Marque that was - maybe Lambo hoping for similar massive boost to finance more adventurous new models more conforming to type...which would be a good thing.

Do I want to own one...I don’t think so. Will I want to own what revenues and profits from Urus might create...more likely...

Detailed review of the Urus. Noise can be heard around ~12mins.

Thx
Looks better than the initial pics
Sounds ok, but close your eyes and it could be any other one of a multitude of V8 SUVs imo
Wonder if all those interior parts are aluminum or painted plastic

Wow, really ?

I really don't like super SUV's but I have to say I think this looks amazing. Well done Lamborghini, they really seem to be on a roll at the moment

It's one of the best-sounding SUVs on the market right now. Very few SUVs sound like a Huracan.

Biggest disappointment, though, is the rear-end. The bottom half of the car looks like an Audi S3 and a bit cheap and nasty for a £100-200k vehicle.

Pretty much every post here says its an SUV - not a Supercar and certainly not a Gallardo/Huracan

Should there be a better home to discuss these badge-engineered VWs and their ilk (eg RR & Ferrari in 2020) ?

this twin-turbo v8 doesn't sound much like a n/a v10 to me either !

Strictly speaking, it's a super SUV (SSUV), so there's still space for it in the PH Supercars section. Or perhaps start a Super SUVs subsection.

Will any of the off road capability ever be used? I have a couple of humble cars I use for off-roading (cayenne and a Jeep Wrangler) and they have the scars to prove it. I cannot imagine anyone actually doing much with a car of this price

Of course it does, it's a Lamborghini. Otherwise anything that is not a 2 seater shouldn't be discussed like the FF
