Not a fan of early e-gear but towards the end for a single clutch car it wasn't too bad when driving enthusiastically and the downshifts from 3rd to 2nd are epic. Corsa changes would snap your neck. Around town and at slow speed in auto even the last version of e-gear was quite jerky.

Todays DCT's are a MASSIVE step forward but e-gear has character and suits the car so if you can live with its quirks and fact its not the latest technology its still an option but the later MY the better as there were many software/hardware revisions during its life to constantly try and improve it.

The gear change in my 2013 LP570 - 4 Performante was better than in my 2009 F430 F1 but not as good as the F1 Superfast II gearbox in my 2008 430 Scuderia.

If you can get a good pre LP manual I think that's the way to go TBH
pre LP Manual for £65k

Although relatively high-miles, seems good value for money. Haven't seen a kosher Gallardo starting with a £6----- for a while now.

Just not loud enough. Maybe some yellow details could lift the grey colour but wouldn't be my choice.

I saw this - would have been very tempted when I was considering a Gallardo if it was about a year ago.

A quick wrap would solve that.

True but that's another £5k on the price effectively

Perhaps, but you'd them have a manual Gallardo in the colour of your dreams for <£70k. Seems very good value to me.

Wonder why it's so cheap?

Yes, I did spot this one and for the money it looks decent value.

Just the mileage is putting me off.

Still want a manual ideally but have started looking into Superleggera Mk II now.......damned budget creep! hehe

The se was a limited edition but imho it was also a development mule to address the then criticisms of the gallardo.... The changes were well received and carried into the my06 coupe and spyder... It has 520hp, wears the then new Callisto rims and had the latest clutch.
sounds about right. also had the shorter gearing ?
According to Evo, "The limited-edition SE Gallardo had a much less restrictive exhaust and is loud at all times."

Did that also get carried onto the rest of the range?

Never you mind

Looks a bit tatty in places if you take a closer look. Still, it has done near on 50K miles so what do you expect.

Yes it did, as I said, really a test mule, well received by press and customers.... So became my06

Remember the Gallardo SE we got rather lathered up about at the end of last year? Well the 2006-specification takes the mechanical upgrades of that car – an extra 20 horses, new suspension, wheels, steering, gear ratios, exhaust – and applies them to the ‘regular’ production model.

Thanks. thumbup

The article also says

"There’s also a range of new trim options and enhancements, such as a rear-facing video camera to aid reversing, and handily, so that you can see the jets of blue flame that shoot out the exhausts when you change up the ‘box at night. Which is nice."

Is that actually possible, or is the rear camera on operative when the car is in reverse?

Mine has a button you can push to turn on the rear view camera when going forward.

Kerbed front wheel, you'd think they'd sort that before putting it up for sale.

Scary when you see someone coming up behind driving with their camera phone ready.
