Hi there,
So after 2 beloved years with my LP560 I am now considering switching it out for a Huracan. I have found a good one with the type of spec I like - it has some good options on it - but it does not have front lift - now on my LP560 - I have front nose lift and I have to say I literally never use it or need it and the under tray does not have a mark on it - and I drive this car properly - i.e. road trips around Europe/UK as opposed to farting about in town - is this a huge issue for resale not having front lift? also the car is due a 3rd service (minor service) but has only done 300 miles since the second major service... do I really need to get the car serviced or can I just wait until next year? The car is under warranty until next year anyway - would it invalidate the warranty if did not get the 3rd year service with Lambo? what if I got my independent Lambo specialist to do it for me - he is superior to the main dealers anyway IMO... would this invalidate the warranty?

Would welcome any views or comments.

Cheers

Huracan's nose is longer and lower than Gallardo and personally I would want lift to avoid scrapping and it helps resale as some people will definitely need it.
Car will need to be serviced to maintain the 4 year warranty but legally you can take it to lambo specialist if they carry out the right service schedule and use the right oil and genuine OEM parts but TBH whilst in warranty I would want to see lamborghini main dealer stamps in the book so saving a few quid may be a false economy IMHO. The specialist will also not have access to all the software updates and campaigns/recalls on the vehicle.

If you are going to keep the car long term and you are comfortable taking it to an indy fine but personally I would go main dealer all the way on a supercar in warranty and even out of warranty TBH.
Going to an indy sends out the message the car has been maintained on the cheap and what else has been neglected to me and more so to the less educated, non enthusiast general public which could limit your market on resale

thanks for this - all fair points - its just frustrating to know the car has only done 300 miles since the major service, seems a complete waste of money - that's 2.3k worth of fuel for use on the road instead of making a dealer more wealthy. As for front lift, interesting to know that the Huracan runs lower, I have to say, the Gallardo can get over almost anything without the scraping and the need to activate the front nose.

Easiest way to think of it is...
Save £600 on the service
Lose much more ££££ on resale.

I thought this was a ludicrous charge for a minor service but it's what Lambo Birmingham have quoted - "inclusive of parts and VAT" haha! who would be stupid enough to pay this charge for some replacement oil and handful for checks - this is why I much prefer using a specialist... the vast majority of the time the the specialists have so much more knowledge of the cars. I think if your a true petrol head you will be fine with a reputable specialist - I also don't like Lambo Birmingham - as far as official Lambo dealers go i would only consider Sevenoaks or Pangbourne and I'm sure they wouldn't charge 2.3k for a minor service... I'll be checking with them both tomorrow however....

Leicester charged me £1600 for the 3rd year service, took it in Saturday collected the following, (quite a few updates and campaigns that I suspect a Specialist may not have done) a decent loan car for the week on them, used them for the last 2 services, no issues.

so I spoke to both Pangbourne and Sevenoaks and they both also offered jt for 1600... but the RRP for the service is 2.3k all in. apparently 10 hours of work... I'm dubious... but it is what it is - such is the joys of supercar ownership!

So what is the service schedule on these? Big/small/big/small? Once a year. Minor is 1600 what about major?

As for lift everyone does say it does run low an will scrape a road hump. You never know when you need it specialy if going to europe on unfamiliar roads and transport etc
