Sadly, with a young child, I’ve just not found enough time to drive it over the last couple of years, so it’s looking for a new custodian cry
Understand that one - mine was stored for a while for the same reasons. Best of luck for the future - doubt your SL will hang around. thumbup

Let's clear this one up, it's never been advertised, so how's it meant to have sold...

A dealer phoned a few clients....ànd failed
Suggesting it might be for sale on forums hasn't attracted a bid by pm either

Fact is if it had been advertised in July, there was a buyer waiting, and I'm not making this up.
Hth

Further fact, doesn't matter which gallardo variant one buys, they are all lush!!! That V10 deserves far greater accolade then it gets

My comment was aimed cheekily at 'Never you mind'...are you talking about his sale or yours? Sorry if I've touched a nerve 70p, not my intention. smile

Granted a bog standard Avis spec Fiat 500 is obviously going to hurt your manhood. biggrin

But the Abarth and the Biposto versions are super little things. You know it's sat there thinking "When I grow up I'm going to be a race car" smile I once drove an old original mini and the 595 is the closest thing to that but with brakes that can stop it and with enough power to upset the average dhead in a 320D smile

Amen to that brother!

Think I'll keep it anyways, it's my first supercar so I think it deserves to stay with me forever. Maybe next year I'll be able to add another car but until then I'm going to enjoy that noise it makes on cold start and continue my relationship with the local petrol station smile

OH and it's still better than a MK1 SL biggrin

Mines a keeper, end of.

There are newer cars, faster cars, carbon tubs cars, dual clutch cars, ring crushing cars, but I'm very content thank you very much.

Mine has practically been stored over the last two and a half years. The majority of miles I did was taking and collecting from Pangbourne for the service each year. I held on to it thinking I could get out more in it, but I just can't see that happening anytime soon.

Shame, you have been missing out. These cars are meant to be driven frequently and enjoyed. If you were looking for an investment vehicle (pardon the pun) then the Gallardo is the wrong car.

The first 1.5 years I owned the car I covered 4000 miles so I've not totally missed out. As mentioned, just been unable to use it, rather than holding it as an investment.

Fair enough. I have seen some on here that have done significant mileage, one has a car that has now passed 100k miles! I have done nearly 8000 in 2 years. Would love to know more about people’s experiences doing bigger mileage numbers in terms of any issues. Was thinking about changing for a Huracan, but actually my car represents something special to me in terms of fulfilling a 40 year held aspiration and being my first Lambo. Result is I want to hang on to it..might start a fresh thread on this...

Talking of using a Gallardo and putting miles, would you guys consider buying a car that's done 17k miles in one year (Around 14k miles within 5 months) ?

Not if it was a hire/track car.

I don’t have any issue with a car that has miles on it built up over its lifetime, as that indicates it has been driven and that is better than it sitting around. My car had done just over 10k in 5 years when I acquired it. I have done around 8k in 2 years just using it. To a casual observer that may raise suspicions about exactly how mine has been used but I can’t help that, I like to drive my car around, nothing more, nothing less. Point I am getting at is sometimes there are reasonable explanations for a sudden spike in average mileage per year.

However, that being said, this is a hefty spike, so I would need to ask some questions. If it turns out it was simply dailied by the current owner, or they did a few long road trips around Europe and regular weekend use in between, for example, then frankly I would not discount the car just because of its miles. All cars work better when driven regularly. Shame so many marques are so mileage sensitive and so many owners are scared of that sensitivity. Seems a bit pointless to have one if you don’t get out and enjoy it, unless you have a collection of investment assets, which Gs are not...

The ad says he’s only done 1,000 miles in it? How does that equate to 17k in one year?

Or am I missing the bleedin’ obvious?

The previous owner seems to have done 17k miles from 2014 to 2015 which is half the car's current mileage. I know cars should be driven but not sure if the engine/transmission etc will be stressed with high mileage in short period?

If miles were not all track related or caning around redlining everywhere and if it as had at least 2 services during that mileage, unlikely it will be stressed. These cars are very robust.

I'd be more worried about the aftermarket alloys and stretched tyres...might give an indication as to what type of person owned it in terms of mechanical sympathy

Read on another advert it was the dealership owner's personal car. Of course I have no idea what type of person that is either.

Edited - states it on this advert actually - just wading through the capital letters.
