Thats a real shame.

The genuine ones are that price, not the same material but some people won't be swayed away by the cost saving now.

Its still £400 for a full set.

Cheers Ricky

Hi

I have had a look on the Hill Engineering website, and these are inc VAT £102 each.

Earlier in the thread someone mentioned about £50 each.

Is £102 what they finally came in at, or can they be got a little cheaper somehow?!

Thanks
Im not going to lie, im absolutely horrified at hill engineerings price based off their offering for the fezzas that they offer for considerably less.

Yes they need to make a profit but this is extortionate.

If people are still interested in a better price, I wouldnt mind organizing a group buy from the people I have had quotes from (im assuming PH dont mind that sort of thing?), again it comes down to numbers but it only takes a few people taking full car sets to get there.

I would be interested in a full set, group buy.

Am I right, they have used your design?

Its the standard design.

I can get them made in either.

I have reached out to the cnc company I had my initial quote off and will get a group buy going in the next week or so.

They are all the same, we all know Ferrari and Lamborghini just think of a price and double it, bearing no relationship to the items cost.

After market suppliers take that doubled price and knock 10% off it, again beating no relationship to the costs either.

A well known supplier charged me £50 for a fuel filter, ecp sold me one for £5.

With my motor still in bits with Ricky (awaiting the bespoke cylinder liners from the US, which the machine shop say that they are finally expecting on Monday!!) we definitely need two. And the plan was to take a full set of four when you were anticipating them to be circa £50 ea. So if you get a positive reaction from the machinists, I think that I’m still in.

Right guys, I have confirmed with the company that we can put an order in subject to a minimum quantity to get the price down.

We need 80 units ordered which = 40 full clamps. = 5 full cars.

This would be priced at $30 per half / $60 full clamp. Which as of current exchange rates = 47.23 Pound sterling.

Please email me direct jon [at] kindai.co.uk confirming how many you would like and post here please in case I miss the email.

Thanks!

Ill try keep this post updated with what people need:

Buy list (full clamps)
kindai - 8
kitchensink - 8
4321go - 4
yorksram - 4
The Anesthetist (lt) - 2
Tony - 4

(Total 30)

I’ll get Ricky to liaise with you, but I’m under the impression that we’re after four full clamps (or 8 halves); a pair to join the headers to the cats (or bypass pipes in my case) and a pair to join the cats to the silencer unit (SL). Actually, I only need two pairs (cats to silencer) But will consider 4!

Thought that I should bump this thread as we’ve just fitted a couple of pairs of these in the course of the rebuild of my pre-LP Gallardo engine. You’ll need to purchase the ceramic inserts (the rings in the photo) separately from Lamborghini. They seem very well manufactured and unlike the mild steel OE clamps, shouldn’t need to be renewed every time that the exhaust is removed.

If you haven’t been keeping up on the saga of my rebuild, see here: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
