This won't help there values
Shame as these are proper special cars, but market doesn't seem to accept that. Just don't understand it. My old car is up for sale in Austria and the owner wants €130k for it, he paid just under £80k for it in November so I think he is dreaming. Car was perfect, literally out the box fresh but it won't make anywhere near that.

LHD though?

Yeah Lambos' really need to be a bright citrus colour - Verde Mantis is stunning in the sun, real nice metallic yellow flake in it whilst still looking bright green
There is a guy on here with a Yellow one via Pangbourne........I know of an Orange that a guy tracks all over Europe........few white ones on here.........grey one at Motorhub that has been butchered........grey ones at VVS and the Eric Clapton car.........black one at Top Cars........another guy on here contacted me previously but he wanted £100k for a private sale of a black one.......Not many left........but it seems odd that there seems to be an appreciation for them but then when they come up for sale they stick around forever?

It was, but RHD are shifting much either at any price. These cars take a while to sell-as I said I don't know why, perhaps people see it as another Gallardo variant. But trust me I still adore the SL.
interesting point, but the physical differences between gallardo and "mk1" superleggera are not dissimilar to those between 430 and scuderia...andrew said:

Agreed. But for the Gallardo there was too many "specials", Balboni, Performante, Nera, SE, Corsa, Super Trofeo. So from a punters point of view, apart from us current or ex owners saying how good they are, why would someone want one with so many other versions of the car? It's sad but that is how it is.yellowtr said:

It's sad but that is how it is.Mine is a LP570-4 Superleggera in Giallo Midas and based on my purely subjective opinion looks amazing and drives sublimely. Whilst I appreciate this is a MK1 SL thread, for me the appeal of the car is precisely that it is a little bit more special than a standard LP560-4 or variant thereof (Bi-colore etc) not just in terms of looks but performance, handling etc. The Mk1 SL is therefore that little bit more special than any standard MK1, beyond just looks and a few differences in non performance or handling related spec, which many of the other specials are.
The key, IMO, is the expectation of price. Still there are some optimistic sellers out there. A car sits for ages mainly because it is not priced to sell, but priced to attempt to achieve the dreamy eyed aspirations of the owner. I get that though, because it is hard when selling your pride and joy to be truly objective about its value.
There will always be a market for these cars, at the correct price. Right now is probably not the best time to be trying to sell anyway.

If he registered it in Austria and paid the tax (and he sells it with Austrian registration as opposed to for export), then the price is probably ok. I think the tax is about 30% of purchase price

Edit: just looked it up, the export price is 116k, so quite a bit less than the 133k he listed it at

The mk1 SLs are the Scuderia equivalent. But at a significantly cheaper price. Similar performance and actually a bit more useable than a Scuderia. In rhd they are massively rarer and hence finding a good one is more of a challenge. I prefer mine to the Scuderia’s I had and for me it’s nice to own something that is rare. I have had it a year now and have yet to see another in the flesh a anywhere. I love all the colours they come in apart for black as black sort of hides the lines and the stripes. Mine is white. I paid over £100k for mine with 17k miles and don’t think even in these climates that it has dropped much if at all. The seen through the looking glass videos are a bit cringeworthy but fairly entertaining. He needs to cut down in the sugar pre recording. Cheers all.
