Hey!

I want to install a small carbon fiber spoiler to my Gallardo 2011 lp560-4.

I have been watching videos on youtube where they did the installations easily only by just lifting the back... see picture below.

In the US, they are able to put their Gallardo's into service mode by pressing two buttons simultaneously, but these two buttons on my Gallardo are not next to each other so doesn't help.

Is there a way to put Gallardo's into service mode? OR is it just by pressing the button to put the hood down, stop until it gets to a certain position and pull the latch?

Then to pull down the hood the way it is shown in the picture above, is it just as simple as stopping the rood operation when it is at that desired position.

?

Thanks

There is an official Service position procedure, however stopping the roof at the correct time does the same job.

Once the rear lid has raised to its highest position and before the roof starts detaching and folding back from the top of the windscreen is the service position.

Depending if the car is pre 560 or not depends on the button pressing method.

If the car is pre 560 then you need to press and hold the open and close buttons at the same time, after a few seconds the roof will start to move and will stop int he service position.

If the car is a post 560 then you must press and hold the roof switch the same way the roof is positioned, for example: if the roof is closed the you press and hold the switch in the direction to close the roof and visa versa. If the roof if down, you press and hold the switch as if you are trying to make the roof go down. Make sense?

Once the roof is in the service position, you can raise the rear lid higher for more access room. Standing at the left hand side of the car attached on the underside of the rear lid there is a red plastic pull cord which when pulled firmly but not aggressively with release the lid and will allow you to push the rear lid higher. The rear lid should then lock in place by the LH gas strut (also on the underside of the rear lid) when the lid is raised high enough. This is not to be confused with the sliver hydraulic ram that raises the engine lid via the press of the button.

To release the lid from its raised service position, simply press the red tab inwards on the LH gas strut whilst supporting the lid so it doesn't drop and clout you on the head... Make sure you gently lower the lid down till you hear a positive click. Without this click the roof will not work on the button as the roof will assume that it is in the raised position still.

I hope my ramblings make sense, it should all come apparent when you see it in person...

Edit: Alternatively to get the roof into the position in the picture above, simply operate the roof via the switch till the roof is in that position...
