Looking at Performante's at the moment and wanted to get some more information and real time owners experiences not online reviews. It will be my first supercar, recently sold a GT4 and looking to buy in December.

Aiming to own the car for a year and trying to work out how much it will cost me.

Prices seem to be all over the place, obviously some higher mileage cars are cheaper. But what are the main factors for this, is it certain options, colours or dealers asking silly prices?

Day to day:
Visibility in the coupe seems limited, what are they like to live with?

Depreciation:
Coupes are £165k-£190k at the moment, I cant see them dropping much more. I would say they will bottom out £150k.

Running costs:
Lamborghini hasn't been great in giving me this info regarding services etc, what are your experiences of:
- Service costs
- Tyres
- Brakes, has anyone had to change them and at what cost?
- Warranty: is it a good one?

Options:
- Are there any must have options for resale and just to have that are great for day to day in the car?
- Wheels - are they purely visual differences or are certain wheels a lot better ride etc
- Colour - loving orange and green. Are certain colours more popular?
- Are carbon bucket seats a no no? I have been told cars with buckets goes for £10k less

Insurance:
Have been quoted £3.5k, live in London, 34yrs old. Do you have any good brokers you would recommend?

Are there any key things to check when looking at a car, certain things that go wrong?

Really appreciate any information.

visibility is not good. the sitting position is very low and the roof is extremely low so you won't see the traffic light if you stop close enough. I normally need to lower my head to see the traffic light. A pillar looks huge from inside, which blocks side view, especially when you turn corners. You will get used to it but it could come as a shock when you first drive it. Rear visibility is obviously not good but better than you might have thought. You can see directly through the engine window despite small size. Parking camera is must - I have not seen a Perf without it tbh.

annual service is £1400 including VAT although you can get 5% to 10% discount if you don't do it in London. Perf is AWD so it doesn't eat rear tyres that much. If you track it, obviously it is a different story but I don't think you need to worry about tyre consumption. You can find P Zero Corsa easily in any decent tyre shop. Stock cars come with a special version of P Zero Corsa, which you can only buy from dealers. this type of tyres is marked with L. honestly I have no idea what the difference is. No idea about brake cost but I assume you don't need to change it unless you track it very hard?? 1 year factory warranty extension was priced at £2800 + VAT in the beginning of this year. I don't know if this price has changed or not.

I think lift is a must if you live in London, camera is a must. I personally think light weight forged rim is a must but you probably won't feel the benefit. I like style package although it does not offer functional improvement, just look better. I don't like the feeling of LDS so I specifically chose not to have it although I was fully aware that the record Ring car had LDS on it. Sensonum premium audio is not worth the money imho. You won't hear it anyway thanks to the engine sound and it is quite heavy. The storage space is almost non-existent so if you want to have a cup holder, travel package needs to be ticked. Orange, Green and Yellow are typical lambo colours, which attract more buyers typically. You should really try the bucket seat yourself. The design is very strange and it only fits certain shape of body. It does not fit majority of people. It looks very nice but it is very uncomfortable if it does not fit your body (mainly the curve of your back). I really cannot describe it but once you sit on it, you will understand immediately why comfort seat is popular if your back does not fit in the carbon seat.

it sounds quite a lot. you know almost all Perf has tracker installed so when you quote insurance, do make sure you tick tracker option. (CAT5). I also live in London, not many years older than you. single car (Perf) was £2100. I used Admiral multi-car and 2 cars in total was £1950.

2 years on, i have not had a single issue with the car itself. My tracker failed twice and the dealer fixed it for me for free.

Briefly!
Visibility is fine maybe a little limited but you soon get used to it. Rear visibility is aided by the large wing mirrors.
Service costs , first service was circa 1400 and second 2k but I do use my cars at least 6-8k miles a year.
Reliability- excellent I’m on my second Perf and before that a std Huracan. Not a single problem with any..
Tyres a set will be just over a grand.
Fuel consumption quite good for what it is I reckon 15+ to the gallon. My Aventador S was nearer 6, so this seems frugal.
My car is insured with Elephant. But I’m over 50 and my premium is under £800.00, my Aventador was 1% of value on insurance so circa £3500.00 Elephant won’t cover a car over 300k so could not use them.
Great car to drive, easy to live with!

Great thanks for the information - really helpful.

Do they come standard with cruise control and bluetooth or do you have to spec everything?

Cruise control and bluetooth were both added extras. Personally I didn't bother with cruise.

The magneto-rheological suspension and lifter is probably my most important feature. I don't use the lifter per se but it means that when you switch to strada the suspension becomes nice and soft, good for around town or just when the road surface is not great. I've driven harsher Audis on British roads than the Perf in Strada.

I think that colour-wise, people do prefer a bright colour. The car is no shrinking violet so grey and black for me are a no-no. The nicest colours were probably some of the matte paint options, but these were quite expensive. Easy enough to get 95% of the effect with matte PPF though at a fraction of the cost.

Also maybe try Classic Line.

Try a broker as well, especially if you have a partner with a car or additional cars yourself. I am 34 and have a policy means I can drive any car I like and it costs me less than insuring my cars separately.

I guess it depends on how you use the car, but I would never buy a car with comfort seats. For me the Performante is like a GT3 RS and I wanted it as 'extreme' as possible. I weigh 75kg and fit in it well; back gets a little sore after mega drives (you're talking a few hours), but otherwise I don't see the issue when I am normally doing journeys of less than an hour. For me they look loads better.. I have a feeling those who moan are middle aged and overweight!

I think the costs to look after it are a bit of a pisstake, coming from Porsches myself. I have Trofeo Rs and it transforms the car but, man, does it eat rear tyres!

For me, driving it is a doddle. No different from a Golf but a monster when you drive it like it wants to be driven. The only issue I have had is the missus says she has difficulty hearing me on the Bluetooth!

If I did it again, I would have got cruise control simply because its 'cruising speed' is far too encouraging.

Where are you based? I am going to do the December 1st run with Lambo Tunbridge Wells and think a few Perf owners will be there. Funnily enough I am getting a GT4 the same month and need to decide what to do with the Perf!

I’d add rather than just overweight or middle aged it’s depends on your height too. I’m an extreme at 6 foot 6 but the bucket seat is simply not an option for me. It’s not adjustable at all other than forward and back. The benefit of comfort seats is they sell better and command a premium. That extreme factor might be appealing but take it for a tour across Europe and you’ll begin to regret buckets.

Based in Surrey area - may try to pop to that event and have a chat with you about your car - who is arranging that, Jack?

You getting a new GT4?

Cruise is standard on the EVO and the only reason why I a lot of people opted for cruise control on the H is so they didn't have a blank switch on the steering wheel.

Yes, good point regarding the blank - cheeky by Lamborghini.

I'm getting a new GT4 from Porsche Tonbridge. And yes, Jack will be there I'm sure - think they only have a couple of sales people. I'm sure you'd be welcomed along; I think it is meant to be a drive to get breakfast or lunch.

This is absolutely the reason I went with Cruise control on my Perf. Couldn’t face staring at blanking plates on the wheel of my own car, after renting one without it.

And the comfort seats are a must (I am middle aged). Unless you are accidentally the shape of the person who designed the bucket seat.

Sensonium pointless, most drives with the food down I don’t have the stereo on, you can’t hear it anyway

Lifter essential if you ever want to put petrol in the car, a lot of garages have a run off on exit and entrance that is opposite to the camber of the road and you crunch the front splitter every time without one.

Had mine 6 months and no wobbles, warning lights, squeaks or problems of any kind.
