Been offered a swap on my 2001 25k mile 550 with FHP for a 575 manual also with FHP and similar mileage. There’s a cost of change but nothing crazy

Advice?

I prefer the 550 interior to the 575 and I think it also looks a little better from the outside (although that is nitpicking). Not sure which one drives better, but seem to remember reading that a lot of people favor the 550 (?)
Not sure I would spend money to change between those 2 cars unless one is in a - for you - much preferable colour combination

Also 575 manual prices are coming out of a bubble so if prices generally fall further you will be harder hit

Assuming your 550 (with its rare FHP) is well maintained, I would definitely keep her. The 550 was Ferrari's last drive-by-cable V12. The 575, while special, was Ferrari's first step to its drive-by-wire future.

I've had both. Keep the 550, it feels more special.

Direction of travel I would have thought is away from electrotwackery towards analog.
That electrotwackery is now aged and possibly soon if not now unobtainable from a parts supply pov .
Conclusion.Stick don’t twist .

If this is a pure driving and emotion based question then only you can answer that.

If you have an eye on potential future value speculation and assuming these are RHD cars. The manual 575 will be one of 69 built.

I prefer the elegance of the 550, they really got it right first time aesthetically inside and out, but there is no doubt the 575 was a mechanical step forward as well as addressing many of the known issues that appeared in the 550.

That said, if you love your 550 and everything is up to scratch and want a compelling reason to swap it for a 575.
