I have been looking into the V12 Lusso and it seems to have depreciated substantially at this point (40 to 50%).

May I ask:
- Anyone know what dealers are offering on trade ins for a car with tasteful spec? I have heard the cars are hard sell. I don’t keep my cars for than a year or two.

- Are these cars likely to continue depreciating or at 45% to 50% of original list would it have bottomed out for the most part for at least a year or two?

- What would you consider a no brainier deal for a nice black car with key options?

Any other thoughts or considerations guys?

Here is the car I am considering:
£150k
Nero Daytona with Cream Interior
10k miles
Panoramic roof
Front lift
Shields
Upgraded stereo
Passenger display
Apple CarPlay

Lusso is just a face lifted FF. Take a look at FF prices to see where you will end up in 2 year’s time.

The spec on your looks nice so you shouldn’t have any problems with resale. If you can find one with lots of carbon on the inside, it makes the interior feel even more special.

There is a school of thought which says that the Lusso will be the last 4 seater V12 so if you’re planning on keeping it for longer than 2 years then the historic Ferrari 4 seater depreciation curve may not apply.

Thanks for posting.

I have received confirmation from 2 sources that it is the last V12 4 seater and going forward it is just the SUV. I don’t think it has sold very well which based on its list price and options list, I don’t find surprising.

I am very excited to try and get a nice example of that V12.

Instead lol. I know they are totally different cars.

My heart says go for a 720 but my head says get something fun that can be enjoyed by the whole family. With two young boys, I feel bad that we can’t all enjoy a sports car together. 2RS, 3RS, Touring, Speedster... all are 2 seaters. That’s why Porsche need to make the best touring as a 2+2!

My head is overruling my heart at the moment.

Off now to go test drive the V12

I’ve had two FFs in the past and have had a Lusso for a year or two now. I’m in the same place as you - family including 3 sons. Don’t underestimate the 4W steer system on the Lusso. Makes it a much better handling car than the FF. also the interior and infotainment system is light years ahead of the FF. engine is still supreme until both. Don’t be tempted into a Lusso T. Enjoy!

Also looking at Lusso for same reasons, as a more sensible alternative to F12.
Don’t understand why anyone buys a V8 in second hand market, when prices are similar.
Also lose 4WD, which is another attraction for all year round use.

I had a test drive in a new Lusso V12 last Novembe and was very impressed with the driving and performance..However don't buy one eithe new or even used if depreciation is a concern..They shed money like an autumn oak tree in a hurricane..The point is they seem to keep on losing money forever which has resulted in a very larger dealer bid/sell spread in PX..
Brilliant cars but costly to own..

If depreciation is a big factor in the decision, a 720 might not be the best decision either!

I totally agree on the V12. The price difference is so minimal and having heard it yesterday, an exhaust must really take the sound to an unbeatable level.

Try this for size. The car in the video is an FF but Kline also make a version for the Lusso. Same engine so it’ll sound pretty similar.

I had a main dealer test drive at the salon prive event a few years ago. The roads were damp and the little country lanes were very uneven. The ferrari guy accompaniying on the test drive was one of the track day instrcutors that I had met before and he was quite happy for me to push on a bit. I must admint that 4 wheel steering was really unneriving as I felt the rear was waging around. Maybe its just me and that I am not use to it. It couldn;t be the car as the ferrari guys would have known if something was wrong. Based on that experince I would not buy it ... and its also a bit too refined for me. I have been keeping my eye on FFs however so when the time is right I think that would be the car I'd prefer

Exactly the same experience as you had.Took a Lusso V12 out last November while my 458 was in for a service..Cold damp roads and the Sales guy told me to put my foot down to which i promptly responded..The Lusso lost traction and the back end moved all over the road which i found surprising and unnerving due to the 4WD..
Still an amazing car with the V12 and the interior with the roomy rear seats is a work of art with the expected high quality.. The glass Panoramic roof is an absolute 'must have' as they're difficult to sell on without..

What tyres are on the Lusso?
So many new ‘Sportscars’ have crap traction because of tyres that only work when hot and dry.

IIRC the Lusso i test drove was on Pirellis P zeros..I mentioned to the sales guy at the time that the loss of traction could be down to these crappy tyres.

Yeah it can be quite annoying especially in the horrendous weather (especially in Scotland). A Lusso/FF with winter tyres seems like quite an attractive thing right now!
