Evening All,

Having been planning a treat for my 40th birthday this year, I had always set my heart on a Gen2 Performante Convertible, and the perfect spec has come up (Verde Ithaca) however sadly my budget just simply doesn't stretch that far.

I've kept dreaming a bit and noticed this 560-2 Anniversary for sale through the London Lamborghini dealer:
https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/10964601

I haven't enquired yet as need to work out fully whether I can afford the running costs, but I'd assume all would check out as to its history and condition... but it seems cheap? I love the alcantara, and the 2 wheel drive wouldn't detract for me, but what's the general consensus on this particular special edition? Was it a sought after one, or just another spec sheet to keep sales going? The carbon insert around the gear selection buttons looks a little off compared to others i've seen (where the weave matches the large outer centre console), or is it just my imagination?

I'm not even certain I could live with the hardtop but as this just sneaks into my total price bracket I think it's worth a look. I now have a potential slot for a Porsche 718 Spyder towards the end of the year, which in theory should be ok holding it's value for a couple of years, and no maintenance whereas i'm a little concerned the Gallardo lets some risk of big bills in?

All/any thoughts and advice gladly welcomed!

Cheers
MrChips smile

Hi

I believe that car is now sold as I enquired Friday. It’s has been reduced a few times and looked great value.

Good luck with the search.

Sounds like it might be a moot point if the car is sold, but....:

If I were you I'd go 718 Spyder for a couple of years and then see where you are / the G market is.

There is almost no downside to this approach.

I always liked the 5LP560-2 - Gen 1 Superlegerra wheels, 2WD, full carbon & alcantara interior.... but obviously it won't scratch the spyder itch.... and the G Performante is pretty much unrivalled in the awesome noise + wind in your hair department.

718 Spyder will be a better car in almost every respect except for a) noise and b) it's not a Lambo.

There’s a car on autotrader in black at £88k a black coupe advert says lp560-4 and it’s a anniversary model, I though the anniversary models only came in white and a lp560-2.

Is this correct sorry I have tried to do some
Research but struggled to find out the answer on that car.

Paul

Someone got an absolute bargain... There was one anniversary that was a YouTubers car, I wonder if this is it, hence cheap price

Plate visible in vid so possible to check history

To answer the anniversary question

2013 was Lambos 50th anniversary. The 560-4 got a bumper facelift that year, last ditch effort to help sales whilst awaiting the huracans arrival. The facelift was nothing to do with celebrating the anniversary.

But dealers used the word anniversary edition, maybe to boost sales that year..... The cars have no plaque inside.

The cars released by the factory to celebrate the anniversary were an Aventador and the 560-2 anniversario. Both were limited in numbers and have a plaque to mark. The gallardo had a editione limitata plate by the foremost side window.

There were only 100 cars made worldwide. There were only 14 UK cars. Only 5 cars worldwide left the factory not in the special white paint, 4 uk cars and on lhd in the Aventador anniversary yellow. The non white UK cars were lime, orange, black and grigio teleste. 2 UK white cars had comfort seats. All UK cars were e gear.

I can share loads more....

I own the lime one, and am obviously biased, but I think its the best gallardo variant.... Because....

It's 2wd, just as Valentino recommended
Has the alcantara interior and bucket seats

This means it is the best power to weight gallardo ever

It is slower than the superleggara but sooo much more fun at sane speeds

Re cf the 718, that V10 blows the 718 away, it is one of the best engines ever.,...

After my pre lp gallardo I could have moved on, but that V10, and the anniversary got the nod in the end over all variants

So the car on autotrader can’t be a anniversary if it’s a 560-4??

The youtubbers car isn’t the car I don’t think at Lamborghini London as it’s a 14/14 not a 63/14 and has different callipers although they could be painted at some stage.

Thanks for the response

Good spot, someone's got a cracking deal then on the London car, that's a steal that... Just watched the vid again, it's got comfort seats....

Of the UK white cars, the sytner group cars (3) had intended white red combo, the sevenoaks car had white yellow combo. The London cars had black or grey calipers, the pangbourne white cars had comfort seats

The factory anniversary cars were 2wd, and only they shared the alcantara interior of the superleggara. This plate identifies them....

As I said, the facelift was a final sales pitch, introduced in 2013, which just so happened to be the anniversary year

Ok so the car am looking at has the 50 plate on the advert and is advertised as a anniversary model.

It’s had the bumpers also but has leather and is a lp560-4 do you think someone could of bought the 50 plate and added it.

Thanks for the reply sorry I don’t know how to add a link to autotrader to show you the car.

people were sticking 50th badges on lots of cars around 2013

celebrating the 50th anniversary rather than any intent to deceive obviously

https://gtspirit.com/2012/09/27/paris-2012-lamborg...

The Face-lift car was announced in 2012 and was not a limited edition anniversary model. The bumper Face-lift applied to the 560-4 coupe and spider only. The 570-4 and 550-2 were unchanged bar the last squadra corsa cars.

The black car looks very nice. Its not an anniversary edition. To clarify, the anniversary edition was white with 560-2 config and bucket seats, coupe only and rear spoiler fitted.

So, the black car. Look at it as it is, a 560-4 coupe. I wouldn't pay any extra for its anniversary status, hope that helps.

Well I spoke to the London dealer and yep the white one is definitely sold. What’s difficult to work out is the pricing difference between that one at £90k, and the other 560-2 anniversary for sale on PH for £129k.

Coming from an official dealer too, what would lead it to be underpriced? Or could it have been on SOR and the owner just wanted rid?!

Slightly gutted I missed it as 90 is my max budget and I’m not keen on standard interiors.

Will be interesting to see how values change over the course of this year so may be it’s a blessing in disguise.

I think this car started out at a lot more and has been reduced a couple of times. I wasn’t sure about white but at £90k it’s great value compared to £129k which is more than a super.

I had expected the Gallardo prices to depreciate further with the release of Huracan Evo but the prices appear to be similar to when I bought mine over two years ago.

I am aware the gallardo looks more special, will sound better and potentially faster (in a straight line) but as a driving machine and depends if you care more about driving or being seen, the 718 spyder is a special car. Its also much rarer than a gt4
