As mentioned, make sure you get all the bits in "frunk" inc the centrelock socket.

You need 600nm of torque to get the CL nuts off - thats Lambo or Porsche for the right torque wrench. Might be worth looking into getting your own, however iirc you need two people to operate it...........perhaps someone can offer something up here. Basically, they are a bit of a PITA but look cool.

Sounds like a modern version of the spinners on my e-type, although I usually just knock those hard with a hammer!

DamanC. Out of interest did you buy a centrelock torque wrench? If so do you have a recommendation. I hate not being able to check the tightness of the nuts after a bad experience a couple of years ago.

Congratulations!

As a fellow arancio borealis Performante owner, albeit the Spyder rather than the Coupe, I'm sure you'll love it!

I can't wait for the weather to improve and lockdown to be lifted - I'm getting withdrawal symptoms....

Not only is the Perf a future collectible but the Perf will go down as one of the best modern Lambos ever produced. You can DD, track it and just a overall pleasure to drive.

I bet 10 years from now people will look back at prices and kick themselves for not buying one.

600nm is huge. The spinners on my e-type only need 300nm and a normal wheel nut needs around 100nm

The wrench I recommended only goes to 350nm.

That's exactly the Torque wrench i have. I used it to tighten some new Titanium wheel nuts on my 488 a couple of weeks ago. Its a very high quality piece of kit. Does anyone know what the exact torque is required for the 488 wheel nuts.?

Nothing to add but my congratulations. I honestly believe that in years to come this car will be viewed as the high water mark, not just for naturally aspirated V10 blah blah, but modern sports cars. Lamborghini absolutely nailed it with this one.

I was told by the dealer on my 599 that it was 98nm. No idea on the 488 as didn't have it long enough to take the wheels off. Its a good wrench isn't it.

Taffy sorry not 488 specific but I was told that the 5 nuts on my previous Huracan 610 were to 140NM.

I’m sure it says in the manual 100nm. I know when my detailer took the wheels off, he checked the booklet as i’d left it in the vehicle. He didn’t believe it would be so low so rang Graypaul to check with the tech’s who confirmed 100nm is correct and what the factory recommend.
When I did the ‘official’ Ferrari day at Croft a couple of years back the tech was checking and re-torquing every vehicle coming back into the pits without fail. Always wondered if I should add another 10% for safety.....

I never looked in the handbook when i put on Titanium nuts recently. However i took a wild guess and tightened them up to 105Nm which felt about right. Will check with DL to make absolutely sure.

No......well not yet. This post kind of reminded me to do so hence the mention. The Perf CL nuts have the highest tourque requirement of any production car........something like that anyway and aside from trucks, buses, tractors etc they are way up there. off the top of my head the Porsche CL nuts are something like 530nm. Normal H bolts 140 Nm, or 103 ft-lbs btw. Same as the Gallardo. I have a funny feeling the Aventador CL guys are in the same boat.

I was under the impression they were like £1K a throw but as quick look online and they seem like they can be had for around £300 but they are like 4/5 ft which is obviously not practical to cart about on a road trip. My Perf is like most, still under warranty/Lambo assist so figured should I need, I just phone up and wait however I like the idea of having said wrench should the need arise as I know full well if I phone Lambo assist whatever 3rd party rocks up wont have a Wrench of that capacity. Even better, something that goes full transformer and fits in the frunk sounds even more splendid.

Thing is, I can talk numbers, theory etc but have no freeking idea what to look for wobble

Just to add on this, I will never forget the day the alloy wheel on my Saxo overtook me.
