I'm researching the history of this 2013 Arancio Borealis Gallardo LP-560-4 FE Spyder.

Primarily because I bought it today smile

I like to assemble history files, so if anyone knows this vehicle, its history, or anything about it, or was a previous owner, please say!

It’s a 2013 ‘final edition’ with the divisive bumper facelift. I’m in the minority as I like it, but only if the lower sections are in body colour, as these are.

Here’s the spec and ownership history:

• Q-Citura stitching in Arancio
• 19” Callisto wheels (to be returned to factory spec silver)
• Reversing camera
• Lifting gear
• Branding package
• ‘Lamborghini infotainment system powered by Pioneer‘
• VIN ZHWGE6AU1DLA13066

1st owner – X8 DRG. Sold April 2015 at approx. 2,000 miles

2nd owner: 4 TBD. Sold April 2016 at 4,400 miles

3rd owner: M5 KPP. Sold Feb 2018 at 6,340 miles

4th owner: M477 PET. Sold Feb 2021 at 15,700 miles

It’s interesting that the first three owners hardly used the car (2,000-odd miles each).

I also want to find more about this so-called ‘Lamborghini infotainment system powered by Pioneer’. Is it really a Lamborghini option rather than aftermarket?

The registration number with PET is often used by Lord Aleem who's family own Platinum Executive Travel, A high end rental company

in the Birmingham area, not saying that it's anything to do with him could be just coincidence but that might explain the jump up in mileage,

well worth checking. Congratulations ,

You will find him on his You Tube channel.

Hi, yes I've owned her since Feb 2018, when it had about 6,800 miles (I think) on the clock. Now has around 15,500 or something. Absolutely gutted to be parting ways tbh, as is my son who used to love me picking him up from school in it on hot summer afternoons!

Had a great trip down to Monaco back in 2019 and was planning a similar excursion last year when things changed in the world. It was awesome on that trip and hasn't missed a beat.

I'm going to be moving into a Huracan in a bit and can't afford both! You're getting a gem, pm me if you have any specific questions..

By the way, I had it on M477 PET reg (Matt Pettitt is my name) but moved it back to the original when I started to contemplate selling as I thought it would just make it all a bit easier.

Cheers,

Matt

Hi Matt

Lovely to hear from you, and thanks for the response.

Sorry to hear that your son will miss his school runs. As they say, 'When a man owns a Lamborghini, his son is not late for school.' smile He can wait for the Huracan though!

I'll also be using your Gallardo for school runs. Although my son's 16 now and will have his own car by the end of the year. It will not, however, be a Lamborghini smile

Is there anything I need to know about the car? I assume you're dropping it off at VVS soon? They're going to fix a few of the trivial things Sytner's found. I'm in no hurry what with this boring pestilence thing stopping us all driving.

Do you know any of the previous owners? Or what that Pioneer head unit is? VVS say it was a Lambo fit but I've never heard of that. And I wonder what happened to the stock unit.

Cheers, Mark

Arancio borealis is a great colour: I was not looking for a Gallardo in anything else. I can't imagine the colour working on any other marque though - it would look like trying too hard. On a Lamborghini, which is a ridiculous thing anyway, it's funny!

Gunmetal or Titanium is an interesting idea. I'll do a bit of image searching and see what it looks like against the orange. Thanks for the tip.

My 550-2 is Arancio with black Calisto's - did a lot of looking when I bought it, and IMO the gunmetal/graphite versions look the best with the orange body and callipers. Mine look best when they are dirty and grey, oddly...until you get close up!

I seem to remember that it was an 'official' aftermarket product offered through Lamborghini dealers. I can't find any information on it though ...

And yes, Arancio Borealis is the colour to have on a Gallardo. wink

Same as mine but the bottom section of the bumpers are black as are the wheels. Great colour, attracts the bugs in the summer though! No idea on the Pioneer unit and if anyone should know, I should. Owned a Pioneer service centre for many years albeit we dropped out the car game years ago

Thanks for the comments. Here's a mockup of the three factory wheel colours against Arancio Borealis.

Obviously it's difficult to be sure of colours on a screen - would those who know these in the flesh say this is an accurate comparison?

I'm certainly leaning towards the titanium. And my partner likes it too, so that's a bonus! smile

BTW, the callipers are currently orange, and I'll leave them that way.

Titanium is a bit darker in real life and was standard on the SL and Performante versions of gen2 Gallardo as far as I know. Closer to this colour below. Personally it is my favourite colour for Lambo wheels, even though I have gloss back at the moment.

Nice dilemma to have driving

Nice picture. I always think these cars look good on grass/in a garden rather than on tarmac!

The previous owner has been in touch (Thanks Matt!). He has an invoice from Lamborghini Sevenoaks in Aug 2016 for the fitting of the Pioneer head unit, so it is a thing that could be fitted by main dealers. Despite the slightly aftermarket look.

Don't think that's endorsed by Lambo in any way. Just looks like a standard AVIC system with a bezel fitted. Prob has the bull splash screen appear on it when you power it up. Did look into replacing the one on my earlier G once as the screen was scratched badly. We just installed a direct replacement, which funny enough is the same one used in the Audi RS6 and, wait for it .... the Seat Exeo.

For anyone who may be looking at this in the future, I've got to the bottom of the mystery head unit.

It was a genuine Lamborghini retrofit, Part No. 400898373C, fitted by Lamborghini Sevenoaks in Aug 2016. The original invoice is below.

Lamborghini call it, in English marketing, the 'Connectivity Unit'. The -C suffix means including camera functionality.

The advertising flyer shows a wider screen than the one actually received.

It's the (now-obsolete) Pioneer AVIC-F70DAB, together with adaptor leads including camera and CAN-bus connectors, and a bezel surround. It has a pre-installed splash screen image showing the bull logo and the words 'Accessori Originali'. All this comes in a black Lamborghini box, making it well worth the more than double price you're paying smile

It may have bespoke firmware, perhaps allowing it to display engine information, tyre pressures and the like, but I won't know until I get the car. If anyone reading this has the same officially fitted unit it would be great to compare notes, as it appears this upgrade is both rare and little-known.

Question: Does the standard head unit display engine information, mpg, tyre pressures and the like? It would be annoying if a later retrofit removes this functionality.

Not as standard, no (I guess there may be some secret codes to get the information displayed).

The fuel consumption/range information is available in the dashboard display, and I don't believe any of the models came with a tyre pressure monitoring system.
