Looking at this car, does anyone here own it or know any details on it?

Doesn’t have lift, is this really essential or is forum talk making me worry about nothing?

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/294001469344

Thanks

I don’t know the car but lift is 100% essential. So I’d discount any car without it.

Thanks for the reply.

Would you say that you need to use the lift on every speed bump you encounter or just in more extreme circumstances?

The reason I ask is that on US forums people seem to say they rarely use the lift but the comments I’ve seen here indicate you literally cannot drive the car without it, this I feel must be an exaggeration as if that was the case surely there would be no cars for sale here without lift.

It looks like the lift can be retrofitted at Lamborghini so if it turned out to be a nightmare I could always add it at a later date.

Will be a nightmare without lift. You will be forever pulling a funny face with it scraping on everything.

Car looks great and a good price - on the surface at least, nothing like actually checking it in person of course.

But, a lift really is essential. I remember the dealer bemoaning that they'd been sent an early one from the factory to sell without a lift and were really struggling. Any speed humps you'll have to take at absolutely dead slow speed and even then you're not guaranteed to not scrape the front, same with many car parks. What I would say, however, is that often the scraping sound you'll hear isn't actually the front of the cars bodywork, but the trim (I don't the write word) that sits in front of the front wheels. It helps as a warning sign I guess.

Regardless, I would really really struggle to conceive of buying one without a lift.

I would have thought it would depend on where you live and drive on a regular basis, maybe take advantage of a lower

price as the lack of lift judging by the comments on here would effect anyone else buying it at all.

Only thing to worry about would be when it's time to sell how many buyers will walk away from it as there will be

plenty of Huracan's available that do have lift fitted.

I’d say most uk speed bumps. It’s about as low as a 997/991 GT3, which is low! Definitely get lift - it will be much harder to sell without so no saving to be made in net terms let alone the faff when you own it.

Re. US forums - the notion of speed ramps and the like are just not prevalent in the way that we have them in the UK. Although their road surfaces can be 'challenging' and extremely noisy as they use a lot of concrete instead of tarmac, they don't suffer the blight of speed humps in the way that we do here. That may well be why the US doesn't see the need for the lift in the same way that we do.

I think I agree with the sentiment here about the lift but the colour and trim I want has only come up twice in the last 6 months so I’m trying to find a workaround.

I have an r8 now obviously without a lift and it’s fine as a daily driver but the ground clearance is a lot higher than a huracan something like 25mm higher so again logic would tell me I need a lift but that same logic makes me think this previous owners been driving around for 6 years without one...(but I suppose that could explain the low milage 😅)

Has anyone here retrofitted the lift kit? Google seems to suggest it’s about £2700 to do so which is ok. I’ve phoned Lamborghini to confirm the price and waiting for a reply.

I live in one of the flattest parts of the UK (Cambs/Norfolk border) and I still needed lift every now and then.

I'm in Essex and on just a normal local drive I am using it quite a lot.

Not sure if it's just round here but most petrol stations have a dip before you enter and if I forget to put the lift on it will scrape.

I also had an R8 before and it never scraped on anything.

I’ll post this info here incase anyone else in the future searches for the same issue.

Heard back from the Lamborghini factory today that there is no option from them to fit the lift kit to a non lift kit enabled car.

Thanks for all the owner feedback posted here. I was very close to just trying to get away without it and hoping that I could get it fitted at a later date but with that now not an option I’ll have to pass.

I wouldn't touch a car without lift. Certainly in central London there are a lot of car park ramps that are almost impossible to clear without it.

Dont panic too much if it doesnt have lift if its the spec you want and within your budget
Always aftermarket nose lift kits you can install. Done a few on Ferrari 458's

Re lifts

Does this apply to the Gallardo as well? Have seen some without that are tempting but not sure how much of a faff it would become....

Think I only had to use lift once in anger in 6 years with my pre-LP. Still, nice to know you've got it and it helps when it comes to selling on.
