Huracan Evo RWD Spyder vs 458 spider

Has anyone had experience of both of these cars?

While it may not be an obvious pair, before looking at special edition cars I struggle to look past these 2 - despite being from different eras.

I found the original huracan spyder to have rubbery/synthetic steering but absolutely loved the engine and gearbox, and that’s coming from someone who likes manuals. I think the newer EVOs have more friendly seats?

The 458 spider feels a safer buy to live with somehow (nice big front boot) and might be the more natural driver’s car off the bat? I’ve only driven a 488 spider, and it felt like a big boxster (in a good way), but slightly uninspiring engine sound due to the turbos.

If the huracan Evo rwd had a bigger front boot I’d probably have tried one already, as I like to take my cars to Europe. I don’t think my wife would be happy in the Lambo due to the luggage space, but at the same time I’d be happy to travel light!

Sorry I can’t answer your driving comparison question. However, I can confirm we managed a 15 day Euro tour in a Huracan Spyder using what my wife described as a ‘capsule wardrobe’. Yes, I have absolutely no idea what that means but it did work...

I think we all pay in different ways . It was a challenge but doable, the middle stop had a hotel room full of washing for a day. Included south of France and the top of the Jungfrau in the tour so needed a range of clothing too. Must agree that the Ferrari is a better option from that viewpoint though!
Good luck with your decision either way, there are far worse dilemmas to consider.

With all due respect, don’t buy a £150k plus car based on your wife and her thoughts about luggage space.

I can get a sideways small cabin suitcase in the boot then I put a soft gym case on top of that, that's good for a long weekend but any longer might be tricky (shoes are the worst culprit...).

Thanks for that. My friend has just taken delivery of a standard Evo Spyder that I’ve not seen yet, so will have to take a look at it soon and see what it’s like.

Seems there was perhaps a missed opportunity to make the front boot bigger on the RWD huracan as it would have a lot less mechanicals around that area!

All the reviews of the new huracan seem pretty complimentary and he is very happy.
