Opinions and comments welcome please from the group. Driven and loved the Evo 640 for three days 300 miles just 2 weeks ago. Haven’t tried a Performante.

Niggles, issues and thoughts from owners.

Also, non glass engine cover. Is this a no no as I prefer the look without glass but will it affect resale?

Thank you.

The Perf all day long, looks better, slightly quicker and will have better residuals !!

Think either evo mag or pistonheads rated the Evo Rwd over the performante if that helps at all

Evo RWD for me, having made the choice recently. Bought slightly used (500 miles) and it came with the glass cover.
If speccing, I would have chosen slats, but was told that the glass is a resale must. Would still have specced slats!

+2. But as a comparitor I’d always take a gen 1 GT3 RS over a gen 2 GT3 but appreciate many wouldn’t. Both equally superb cars just different biases.

Depends on its use?

Picking up girls from wine bars - Evo.
More track focused & Picking up girls from wine bars - Perf
Bonus points for Picking up girls from wine bars - Spyder

Perf owner & driven a few Evos inc on track - No niggles, no issues. Very solid, well built cars and relatively practical. Nothing else like it. Panels line up, paint work is good, glorious engineering.

The Evo is more of a H facelift whilst the Perf is more of a top spec/track version.

Both drive differently, as do each version, coupe vs Spyder. Seats also make a difference too.

Try them all!

This.

I went new EVO Spyder, though very tempted by used Perf Spyder; and it was the new sports seat that swung it ( along with exact spec, 4 years warranty; just having a brand new car)

I bought a Performante Spyder, so I'm clearly biased, but I've also had the opportunity to take the Evo for a decent drive through country lanes and faster roads.

I wouldn't swap.

I prefer the more dramatic and eye-catching looks of the Performante. The Evo also felt a tad softer regardless of driving mode and a bit less 'special' behind the wheel. Furthermore I didn't like the infotainment screen - I prefer having tactile buttons in the cockpit so I can keep my eyes on the road.

Ultimately I agree with those who have suggested driving both before making your decision - both cars are magnificent and it'll obviously come down to personal preference and where your priorities lie.

Good luck, and enjoy those test drives!

Not in the market for a lambo but if I was it would be the limited track focussed Performante over the regular vanilla EVO all day long.

Wonder if there will be an EVO Performante ?

Personally I would go for the rear wheel drive only. Has the benefit of being slightly cheaper and more than everything you need.

Plus 2WD has steel brakes so it’s much cheaper to run on a track and actually has great stopping power and feel. Unless you have a Race exhaust and then have to consider bribing the noise tester with whatever you have to hand , a half eaten Greggs sandwich fails in my experience ! smile
