Hi,

I had my new EVO (640-4) out for it's first drive this week. I was really keen to see how it differed in comparison to my old Huracan (610-4).

It was only a short drive... but overall, if felt incredible. I will report more when I manage to get it out for a proper blast, once I run it in a little.

HOWEVER, one thing that I was REALLY disappointed with... was that the EVO doesn't really deliver any sound until it reaches 4,500+ RPM (in any mode). The old Huracan gave feedback as soon as you stepped on the throttle and the exhausts popped even when down changing under 3,000 RPM... the EVO doesn't pop unless you are over 4,500 RPM... and seems very quite in comparison at low speeds.

I've since learned that any recent EVO that has come off the production line is setup with the exhaust valves closed (in all modes), until you reach 4,500 RPM... similar to the STO.

This is exceptionally disappointing, as it means you have to have the car over 4,500 RPM to enjoy the V10, which in reality is difficult to do, unless you are on a track or motorway.

I've heard of many fitting valve controllers to the US STO's and latest EVO's, however 2 of the valve controller companies have said that they might not work in Europe because of the additional GPF in European cars.

Has anyone here disconnected their valves completely? Struggling to find any information on this.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Give your sales guy a call to check but I'm pretty sure there is no GPF yet on UK spec Huracan?

Thanks Steven.

Yes, I have read and watched quite a lot of videos, but hadn't seen those two, thanks.

I was in favour of a controller, however I'm now leaning towards just disconnecting the valves completely as it's not a daily car, so realistically the child in me will want to experience the full sound of the car each time.

Thanks Zed, I plan on getting onto them tomorrow to discuss disconnecting the valves so will ask this too, thanks.

Can you not just remove the valves ? They are mechanical flaps, so take them out altogether.

Could always change the exhaust with custom valve controllers if it’s noise you’re wanting

Doesn't that void the warranty?

I think it would be much more straight forward to just disconnect the valves when it is in ‘open’ position, but I’m struggling to find out how to complete this…
