Well I have to say the new format is very frustrating when viewed on an iPad.
I get the error message about 60% of the time when clicking on ads and when I do get into an ad it doesn't show any details of the car I clicked but 'recommends' other cars instead.

I've used PH classifieds a lot in the past but thankfully now im in Aus it's only to browse (I buy and sell via unique cars.com.au here) so no real damage done. Must be frustrating to other users though seeing as plenty of US and German classified sites cope with heavier traffic and full compatibility with Apple/Android etc...
Hmm. That's the first time I've seen that issue reported on iPad. Are you using Safari?

Using the mobile site, or the full-fat site?

I've no idea sorry. But I am using safari.
I found some ads open with no issues (about 30%), some open but don't display the ad only recommendations but most just say 'error'

Rob,

Would you mind taking a screen grab next time you see this error? You can send it to me at stuart dot forrest at haymarket dot com.

It would be really helpful, and allow us to identify and hopefully fix your problem.

Cheers

Stuart

I get "missing" entries when viewing in thumbnail view - i.e. sometimes you only see one or two cars per row, rather than 4.

See screenshot below

Me too. Being overloaded doesn't mean it was broken - why not just increase the capacity rather than rejig the whole system?
It's a shame but it's just too fiddly and aggravating to be bothered with now.

The only real problem im having is every time I do anything, it ALWAYS jumps back up to the keyword box. It is driving my fking insane! I cant scroll down without first having to click the side of the page, and every time I back up to the previous page, its right back to the keyword box.

Fix that and actually its not that bad, I've had no other problems.

But ffs that keyword box thing is maddening!

It is maddening, but it is being fixed VERY soon. We work in two week blocks of work, and that's on the list for the next two week block, starting on Monday. There's a list of little niggling things like that which we're going to get through, along with a few oft mentioned things here.

You realise it's not just a case of popping down to PC World and buying a USB hard drive... right?

If you need to re-code from scratch to provide the required capacity, wouldn't you take the opportunity to offer something new?

I need the help of a grown-up please,

I'm struggling to list a classified ad. I normally get free listings, but the site won't let me log in, and when I attempt the 'forgot password' route, nothing arrives in my email.

Can someone have a look please?

Thanks muchly.

Hi Mike,

You do have a classifieds account and you have grandfather rights enabled (which gives you a free advert). I've just sent you a password reset email to the gmail address you have registered against this account. Could you give it a few minutes and then see if you have it? It might be in your spam folder.

Sorry about this. We'll get you sorted soon enough.

The old format used to load instantly, now I can take a shower between loading.

The new format always lists Aston Martin Vantages from Exeter within 20 miles of Surrey. Is this the fault of the advertiser? It never used to in the old format

I can't say that's something I've noticed, using iPad mk1 Safari

Can you get a link or specific cars where you can see this happening?
