I just submitted a post that requested help for a charitable cause.

Can someone from PH clarify why it has been removed?

To get it reinstated you ideally need to launch a full scale rant. Include things such as questioning the legitimacy of the mods' births, comment on their sexuality, include lots of swearing and if you achieve a score of 8/10 or greater then you win and it is restored.

Probably.

As per the email we sent you when we removed it, you need to seek permission for that type of post as we don't usually allow them.

We need to be sure all posts of that type are genuine, and also we don't want to be inundated with this type of post.

You could try giving the Yorkshire Post or ITV a call. They may be able to give you some free page or airtime.

redcard Unfair!

You make a post that is against the rules, you then slate PH for removing it, rather than doing as Garlick suggested in his reply & contact them to discuss it.

I saw your original post, and have yet to find anything from Google to suggest that it is legit...

Why on earth would I make something like this up and then post someones work address for correspondence? The story hasn't made the news but it is genuine. Via F'book and linkedin we have managed to get 50 games, 2 consoles and a new plasma screen donated. I thought PH might be able to help, but that isn't possible. If anyone wants to contact me privately I can give the contact number for someone who can verify the story.

I don't think I was slating PH either - sarcastic, yes. I think it is poor that a request for help for a childrens hospital has to be removed. It's a strange policy, given that people can ask PH for help in tracking down someone via the internet, claim they have been diddled on ebay and then find that someones personal contact details are listed, including home address and phone number.

Peoples contact details are routinely removed if they are reported to the mods

This site has almost 250k active members IIRC, imagine if we all wanted to post Charity threads, I have 3 mates doing marathons for very good charities, shall I start 3 threads?

If you had gone through the proper channels you may have had some joy, PH and its members have been shown to be generous in the extreme in the past, but you can only milk a cow so much, hence they reserve the right to decide what does and doesn't get posted

I'm sure any of the patients airlifted there by the air ambulance PH made possible will already be aware of what a grasping lot we are and how unwilling to help, so there's probably no need.

Beaten to it!

Please trust that I'm not disbeleiving you, just saying that I would think that a story like that would make the news, even if it is just locally.

PH does help, provided you go through the right channels, something you agreed to when you signed the T&Cs upon joining not even 2 months ago.

If you had been a member for longer, you would be aware that PH does a LOT (for instance as JAYB refers above, Helimed 98 was obtained using money collected by PH after Richard Hammond's 2006 crash), and sarcasm/slating it is not they way to get them to help your cause...
