Could we all chip in and buy it?

It wouldn't be much each. Then we can have an election for a leader etc and run it ourselves?

Can't imagine it was very cheap when they bought it a decade ago. And that won't have gone down since...

Haymarket spent £18m on new products and acquisitions last year. The company bought three online-only businesses - pistonheads.com, pressXchange.com and CaravanSiteFinder.co.uk.

Democracy doesn't work. I vote for a benign dictator.

Has James Drake left PH?

I notice he hasn't posted a thing in over 30 days...
Didn't you see his post thanking members for their help and contributions over the last 2 years or so, saying he was going to miss this place but was very grateful for the experience, and he hoped he left this place in a better state than when he started?
Nope, missed that. paperbag
Nope, you didn't wink

Why not?
Their staff are obviously not pressurised to deliver the right product to please their customer base!
Or maybe the 'development team' are just a group of unpaid interns on a three month rotation?

Can Haymarket try and recruit someone with a personality this time?

Personality? Just someone with a computer and keyboard would be a start.

Must be paid by the hour going by how they're dragging this fix out.

You honestly believe there is anyone working on this right now?

My money is still on the burst of activity being an intern, freelancer, or secondment, who is now no longer working on it.

Agree.

What saddens me is that nobody from PH central can even be bothered to reply to this thread with an update. Not even to say "thanks for raising your concerns but no further work will be done".

It shows what they think of the people that use the site, generate content and (ultimately) make it valuable.

Yes, of course! Noted.

Just not anytime soon then?

It's a bit like dealing with a utility company or local authority!!

If there's anybody out there please fix the quote all icons disappearing in Safari. Please.

It's just changing the case of a single character, but this has been bust for years.

I think the version of Safari shipping with the latest beta (last 24 hours) of High Sierra may have a fix for this now. At least I'm struggling to reproduce it.

Says a lot when getting an OS patched is quicker than changing the case of a single character on a website.
