Threads deleted because of links??!!

As I alluded in one of the deleted threads, the fact that you posted the same thing (at least) twice, in separate fora, with added information which was NOT anything to do with "does anyone like the new MX-5?" looks perilously similar to attention-whoring.
Instagram moggle in "attention whoring" accusation? Surely not!My daughter WAS MTGB (last year) but that is not a job or a career. It is a title she won in a competition. She was not paid to do anything in that role and she raised many thousands of pounds for charity as the title holder. It is not relevant to this thread unless your threads can also be deleted for inferring charitable work too?
Yes, she is a model but this thread was about the car, not my daughter's interests whilst studying. It was not an attempt to gain work or advertise products or services. This motoring forum bears no relation to the type of modelling work she does (makeup, wedding dresses, etc.). It's just not relevant to the threads being deleted.
Everything I do on the Internet is an experiment of sorts. Including my own car sites. That doesn't mean it is a planned, commercial activity with specific and measurable goals or rewards. We had a chance to get a nice car for a few weeks and thought we'd do an informal set of photos and videos about it. What 18 year-old wouldn't want to have a drive in a nice sports car? Other than the loan of the car, we have nothing to gain and have no commitments to or any rewards from any commercial organisation. It was purely about have some driving fun in the sunshine and capturing the moment. I'm a petrolhead, as many will know. And yes, it has been a lot of fun so far :-)
Last year I did something very similar and posted a link to my own personal website, with a review and photos of the MX-4 Mk IV soft-top and it wasn't an issue then. To have two threads deleted just seems a bit random and I've yet to see anything that explains or justifies why that is specific and unambiguous.
I've also posted links to my 17yr-old son's site where we are preparing his 1990 Eunos for track days and this wasn't a problem either.
This is the only motoring forum where posts like this have been an issue, so I'll assume it is a peculiarity to Pistonheads and leave it at that. As such, this is my last post to this thread. I've been posting in numerous motoring forums for 20+ years and never experienced a deleted thread before now, including on PistonHeads but rules are rules I guess.

You have read the rules (which you agreed to when signing up), right?Posting Rules said:

e posts the pictures in the thread, not links to his website.

Ah, right. So it's ok to embed your photos with your own website address if you start the thread ?He isn't looking to drive traffic to his website.
Edit - damn mobile!

12. Types of Thread/Posts that are not permitted in the forums:e. Do not create threads/posts about your own personal websites, blogs, social media channels or video hosting sites such as YouTube. This will be deemed as advertising and/or endeavouring to drive traffic to external sites from PistonHeads.
As per above, he doesn't create threads/posts 'about his personal site', he creates them about his actual car projects so not sure how relevant to the OP's thread 'about' his own and his daughters social media channels.
For him I think it serves two purposes, one it highlights his site and secondly its a watermark to stop people stealing his images.
Don't think anything wrong with either to be honest. Don't think his pictures can be clicked to lead back to his site, you have to type the site in yourself, unlike OP's which took you away from this site to another.
Plus Mark seems a good guy, so leave him alone
Actually I think distraction technique may be better- hey look a pretty girl with a new car:

I'm confused now
I thought that when we link up a photo from another site so it appears in the forum, we had to post the link as to where it came from as a means of copyright attribution
eg show a pic from bbc site with a link back to where it came from
I can see the issue here is that he's posted up links to his own site, actually it's not it's his daughters site
Nope someone will have to explain it
Anyway does it matter? - if the mods decide it should be deleted that's it, end of
And another thing
Is it me or does the bonnet not line up properly with the bumper in that pic
