Why when in going to a thread I have never viewed before I am being taken straight to the last post with the last visit sash across the top of that post? I have to keep clicking back on the page number to get to the first page.

Previously clicking on a thread I've never visited would taking me to he beginning.... as it should.

PH is becoming a real ball ache to use, what's going on?

I have the same problem. Made even worse when you use a mobile to view the forum.

Possibly something to do with this not working as intended?


- Removed the button on mobile that directed users to their last visit in a thread and replaced the functionality so that this is always the case (where applicable) when clicking anywhere on the thread title

To view a specific page in a topic click in the box at the top with the page number in and change the figure to the page you require

Yes PH is a ballache to use, especially on something like an iPhone. I now don't bother at all unless I'm on a tablet or PC. But it appears to be falling on deaf ears as far as I can tell.

Even just now, a topic I visited several days ago (facts about planes), it took me to the last but 2 posts, I had to go back 2 pages to find where I last read.

I'm seeing the converse issue - when a new post on a thread takes the thread onto a new page, when I click on the 'go to new posts' it takes me to the top of the previous page which I have already read

I'm not sure if this is the same issue, but I'm noticing now that when I open a thread the red 'last visit' marker is almost always at the top of the page, rather than below the unread posts. I use the 'what's new' view to list threads with new updates so I usually expect to find new posts, and I assume the 'last visit' marker is intended to be below them. It looks as if it may be based on the last time I viewed any thread rather than when I viewed this specific thread.

I'm not sure why the little arrow to take you to the last visit point was removed. It wasn't perfect but at least you had the choice.

Same. Very annoying. Making me use PH much less.
Come on techs, sort yourselves out, you're losing people here...

Nope. It makes viewing PH on mobile a proper ballache, but at least PH have finally acknowledged that it's not working.

Maybe the devs should be forced to try and use the site on mobile - 1/2 hour browsing & posting a day (on company time) would help spot issues before we grumpy sods all report them .

Exactly this is happening, it used to take you to the new posts since you last viewed that particular threat but now its only taking me to last post since any thread has been visited?

I know you cant make an omelette without cracking a few eggs but its seems like several hundred eggs have been cracked when only 4 were required....

When I see this thread in my stuff, click on it, it takes me to the top, even though it should go down to post since I last visited

I was just about to report the same thing on Android chrome. Clicking into a thread takes you to the new posts section. I will only want this if I've read the thread before.

PH used to be my daily go to website, no fuss, nice layout, reliable.... And now it's like a Dev ops playground.
