Funny really... when it was effectively a one-man-band and growing exponentially, it ran great.
Now it's owned by a corporate with x members of staff and money, it's a fecking mess.
Progress, what progress?
"Ted" cared about the site.
He had mods who also cared about the site.
Plenty of members met up for beers & drinks & would "keep each other inline"

They've taken the time to integrate those huge stty adverts into the bottom of every page though. PH is like a relationship that's died - you stick with it in the short-term hoping things will improve but eventually we'll have to accept that it's beyond saving and move on.

I remember when passionford and scoobynet were bought over. Lots of stty adverts but at least the functionality remained. That said haven't been on them for years so might be even worse.

Anyway, it's not getting fixed so i'm removing from My Stuff.

Well, I see that after 16 months this is still dragging on.

Honestly this is ridiculous, at the "PH Board" meeting a couple of years ago it was all about how they want to encourage people to post more on the forums given what a PITA this bug makes browsing the forums when logged in you'd think they would have managed to have a dev spend a day or two on it at some point in the last year or so.

^ Good call, I was thinking this again today. It’s the biggest pain in the arse on PH, yet because they’ve introduced newer fkups the ‘focus’ is on them. I’m not one to complain about a free product/service but it really is bad. I love PH and couldn’t imagine leaving but I’m certainly bothering less and can imagine not bothering.

Bump.

I was searching how to find my post within the News Forum and still cannot find my last reply and came across this thread.

When some of the topics are commented on hundreds of times a day its impossible to find your last comment or where you last contributed.

Any other ideas?

Click on your name to the left of your post above.
That will take you to your profile.
You will see a tab called ‘forum’
Open this tab and you will see where you last posted.
Clicking on one of the post links from the forum tab should open the thread at your post.

Thanks but that takes me to a much older post in the thread, not the last one?

So it does. It highlights your own post in a different colour and when I just tried it on my own posts it also highlights my later posts on subsequent pages when I scroll forward.

Hi all,

We're very sorry that this issue has been ongoing for such a long time now...

As you may or may not know, CarGurus has just completed the acquisition of PistonHeads! This means the future is looking bright and we'll be investigating all reported issues in the near future.

Thank you for your patience.
