...This is utterly absurd, the forums may not generate much direct revenue for PH but they still represent a good portion of PH's public facing presence and they claim to care about that and want to encourage new and existing users to post and use them more yet they leave such a user hostile bug for 7 months and counting........

.... It may be tricky to solve out right (although at this point that's an excuse which is wearing thin) but it would be trivial to just disable the Last Visit functionality entirely until it can be reworked which would be infinitely more useable.
Exactly.

I have the forum set on max posts per page so I can atleast scroll back fairly fast. But it's still toss compared to even a phpBB free forum.

It’s nothing to do with the mods, it’s a job for site admin only there is no site admin any more. It won’t get fixed. Ever.

Sad but true. The fact that no admin has even bothered to reply to this topic since July shows that they have no intention of fixing anything.

Hi all,

I apologise that this has gone on for so long, it's as frustrating for me as it is for you believe me! Unfortunately there is no update or time scale, other than the issue is known and is waiting to be worked on.

Appreciate the reply, I am curious what else is being worked on that trumps this, no other changes/improvements have appeared?

Or is it true that the site is now being left to its own devices?

But 9 months ago it was being worked on, then it was proving more difficult than it seemed, and now it’s waiting to be worked on. So everyone on this thread is spot on when they deduce fk all is happening and your earlier assurances were bullst.

Tone directed at the issue, not you personally.

I can only assume the code in question is written into the code forum software, and nobody who works there is actually able to understand the code.

In which case you have three choices:
- Let the site die due to lack of maintainance.
- Pay someone to maintain the site for you.
- Migrate onto off the shelf forum software.

If they are not curing this blatant and so frustrating error in the forum, they sure as hens and teeth aren't going to fix all the other niggling annoying bits surrounding the site and the lack luster mobile interface.

So the real question now is, which other site do we switch to using?

Aa far as I am aware, there have been no changes to PH for at least 6 months, probably a year.
They clearly have no staff working on the website at all.

Could it be set this way intentionally so as to make us scroll down through the thread there by getting all the advertising seen and more revenue coming in?
Praise the lord for add block is what I say.

I've noticed it's getting very very slow at times as well. So much so I end up checking it's not at my end by visiting other sites.

It amazes me that this issue is now just how it is. No other forums have this problem, as one of the biggest forums going refuses to address what must be the simplest issue is a joke. I’m no IT guru but the fact no other forum has an issue like it means it can’t be rocket science, it’s just ignorance.

Apparently no development apart from emergency measures, yet the development continues as I see the sponsored content and pop-up surveys asking me for feedback and am I buying a new car(?).

Let’s be honest, I’m not going to desert PH because of such irritations, and that probably goes for most of us and what is counted on. But it’s a disgrace.

Funny really... when it was effectively a one-man-band and growing exponentially, it ran great.
Now it's owned by a corporate with x members of staff and money, it's a fecking mess.
Progress, what progress?
