Quick question, I guess aimed at moderators.

I started a topic in general gassing looking for mechanical help on a diesel engine.

I chose General Gassing as I suspected I'd have the best chance of finding mechanical help there.

The topic has now been moved to "commercial break".

What use are lorry drivers going to be on this subject ?

I think if it is Marque-specific you need to get the website to 'sponsor/promote' it to stay on the main page......otherwise it gets moved to the Marque-specific forum..... Or somewhere else as you say

Ha, beat me to it!

I was going to suggest it might be the place to tell people there's no apostrophe in the abbreviation of Worcestershire. ;-)

It's been a long time since school for me, but I do seem to remember something about if you take letters out you put an apostrophe in.

Note I did it in It's rather than the its you seem to prefer.

Was something in what you wrote possible to misconstrue as meaning a lorry?

There's been a lot of threads moved lately to places where they get far less coverage. The monkeys at Longleat one for example got moved to the holidays section. The thread was about monkeys pulling bits off cars and the risk of driving through a specific named monkey enclosure. It wasn't asking for the best place to go and see monkeys.
Some pretty promising threads have been killed off by being moved to the quieter areas of PH. I can understand the marque specific, and Lounge type threads being moved, but a good few I can't.

I thought GG was for general discussion topics around cars. As said above discussions around specific makes or geographical locations have more specific areas of the website.
OP, Looking at your forum history your message asked for technical help around a sensor issue after an engine swap in a vivaro van. I would think commercial break is the right place to discuss specific issues around a commercial vehicle as it already has other threads about transits, VW T6 vans and berlingos.

Yes... but.

"Worcs" is not "Worc(e)s(tershire)". If you don't believe me on this, then maybe you'll believe the National Archive?

Possessive "Its" is analogous to "His", rather than "Nigel's".
