They may be a very pleasant middle-class couple down the pub.

But (choosing words very carefully), there is no getting away from the (surprisingly) long trail of "unusual" activities.

From an unusual holiday event to an unusual investigation to unusual media activity to an usual financial fund to unusual spending to an unusual detective to an unusual detective death...

Rightly or wrongly, there is a pattern of behaviour and actions there that make people rub their chin.
I hate to say it but I agree with him..............

Me too. And I think I know why... this post is his personal opinion, with no made up statistics or loosely based facts to back up his weak argument/point.

If he did more of this he’d be far more tolerable other than someone who’s just spouting absolute drivel the other 98% of the time.

You've been to Tenerife? My neighbour went to Elevenerife. Be very careful. Research shows volcanic basalt sand can be linked to an 87.6% increase in cancer in post-adolescent alveoli

The scary thing is, roughly 200k new cars were sold by PCH in the UK in 2017... One can see from this thread that much less than 5% of all deals in the market are truly good value... That means something like 190,000 people got mugged off with a ripoff lease deal last year... There is a hell of a lot of wasted money out there.

Yup, agree that most people get mugged off.

But to back up your argument with made up facts isn't going to help you persuade any one else is it.

The bloke is an absolute buffoon.

Completely ignoring the fact that manufacturers regularly use deposit contributions to offer 'off the radar' discounts, meaning that a great many of those deals will be cash buyers who immediately clear the finance and so are far from 'mugged off' (is that a technical term?)

Meanwhile, our expert on everything has moved swiftly on to the world equities market, where, as ever, he has all the facts at his fingertips and can out Warren Buffett Warren Buffett.

The *only* thing that matters is what will happen to the Dow.

The US runs the world and almost all major stock markets (except insular Japan) just follow New York.

We are clearly in the final 25% of a massive bull run that began in 2009. Some stats indicate it is the longest US bull run in history.

Thus, it is a boom. And after a boom always comes a bust...

So, drip feed in the cash. But be mindful that there may well be a big dip in 2019 or 2020 that will provide a fantastic buying opportunity. Perhaps invest 50% today and 50% in a year or two.

I'm starting to think the bloke needs some kind of mental help.

This post is pretty funny tbh, compared to the other recent offerings:

Sounds logical and rational thumbup

He just lives in a fantasy, I'd love to say I worked with Steve Jobs, or that I co-developed a firm like Stratton, or say I got to meet and drive with Colin McRae in his 22B, but it would be all fiction (no st). He must be so dull that he has to live in this fantasy, and the more he types it, the more it feels real to him.

Glad I spotted this thread - I was actually going to start a "The Wisdom of Yipper" thread.

(I've nothing against Yipper, but am very amused that in just about every single thread I read I suddenly see some utterly unsubstantiated bolleaux, then I look at the poster and yep, it's Yipper rofl )

Pretty sure a 10 page thread about one poster contravenes one rule (something to do with sleuthing).

He/she’s obviously not bothered, I expected if they complained it would be closed fairly quickly,

Which probably proves Yipper’s generally taking the piss.
