I will say this though, and it will be my last comment on the matter, folk had asked how I thought PH had changed over the past six years? Well, unless my glasses are rose tinted, I'm sure folk around here used to be a lot more courteous and respectful to one another than they seemingly are now. I sadly see so many threads descend into petty arguments and bun fights.
Spot on IMHO. We generally expect the members to self moderate, and in the main they do that very well, we step in occasionally if needs be, BUT we can't wet nurse every thread on the forums. I would add, that IMHO the days of the disruptive member on threads will be curtailed and pleasantry will be the norm. There is a new ban matrix in development that will punish those who don't conform.

If a new matrix is going to come in, will it allow for reinstatement of members where the people they inadvertently got on the wrong side of, have long gone when their true colours were shownI would add, that IMHO the days of the disruptive member on threads will be curtailed and pleasantry will be the norm. Basically yes, we will have the option to not only thread/forum ban for a duration of time but also issue full site bans for set periods.Big Al. said:

Where someone for some reason hasn't got on with a set of people in a forum, and the person has been banned to keep the peace, if eventually over time the set continues their ways and gets banned, at what point can the original person be reinstated?
or is it still if youre sent out, youre always out regardless

tt of the year award, that'll do me
Not really something to be proud of.Despite countless people telling you to pipe down, you continued to argue and ultimately the main reason why a thread that's nearly as old as your membership was closed. Ruining the excellent opportunity , insight and learning aspect for thousands of other people.
Really should be ashamed of yourself.

You forgot the "most argumentative member".
2CV gets that one.
Quite, he categorically argues even after he has been proven wrong.2CV gets that one.
Haymarket don't run Pistonheads, the mods do, Haymarket aren't interested in Pistonheads.

It's really horses for courses, it depends as to why the original ban was instigated as to whether it will be rescinded.I was asking about unbannings.
