The rules are, frankly, inconsistent bks.

I remember almost 8 years back when my brother fell out with me and started a thread airing my entire personal life on here, could I get them to delete the thread? Could I bks! I'm sure it still exists! "Sorry, we can only delete it if the OP asks us to!"

And I'm pretty sure the 'no sleuthing' rule was aimed at digging up information on other PH'ers, not random internet 'personalities' who are deliberately publicising their lives on social media
I 100% agree with you, Oakey

I certainly remember the "personal" thread you mention, and the sleuthing was carried out and posted up by a PH moderator (naming no names, but his garage used to house an Italian saloon with a Ferrari engine...........). Bad form, as is the case with the thread in question here.

Interesting that all the posters on here are 9yrs or more PH 'veterans', whilst most of the mods 'enforcing' their view of the rules are pretty new to the place...

That thread was 2 years old and contained quite a lot of useful information, especially the 2016 part so why on earth did someone suddenly wake up and decide to remove the whole thing? Why not get rid of some recent offending posts and keep the rest online, you could even lock it.

Happens all the time. Usually by Big Al. Makes a comment on a feedback, and rather than let anyone have a polite say back he just locks it. IMO it's actually rude.
Rude, and he knows when he doesn’t have a leg to stand on. Some of the reasons given by Big Al for locking threads are pathetic.

The way that PH is run baffles me, there’s no direction at all. Who’s in charge exactly?

The thread about the convicted fraudster who ran a parking business got nuked too despite the subject being in the public eye and being very relevant to these forums.

I'm gutted about the 21 year old raking it in thread going, there was so much useful info in there, seems such a waste to just delete the whole thing.

Its shocking that this was deleted, a real hang your head in shame PH moment.

Quite clearly what happened was some of these scumbags put in a complaint and PH st itself.

Pathetic imo

yes

That thread was providing me with loads of tips as to who to contact if I wanted to invest my spare pennies. The experts had Lamborghinis and everything! Well impressive.

ETA: Seriously though, it is a bemusing decision for PH to close that thread.

My odds:
1/4: No official reply
Evens: Thread disappears
2/1: Thread closed by Big 'I must have the last word' Al with a patronising comment.

Well it wouldn't be a massive surprise if it was.

Lets try to keep it constructive chaps.

Yes we accept that the thread contained some items which contravened posting rules, by linking Insta and Twitter and some Whatsap screen shots - but the rules on this are enforced on a patchy basis. Lots of threads have Facebook, and other PUBLIC DOMAIN info in them.

However it was a long running thread, so perhaps it could have been edited, or recreated as a new thread with warnings/moderator advice.

Finally - what really annoyed me, was that a thread was started in here to "provide feedback" and that thread was also closed - too quickly in my view.

As I said, I would prefer to be constructive, this is a chance for us to let moderators know what we think, lets not make it personal or abusive.

Perhaps the disappearance of the thread suggests that Himearkat are about to get acquired by a reputable Cypriot outfit who might or might not be related to binary trading and/or phonesafe.

Remember when this place was run by people with personalities?
These days we don't even know what the PH staff drive.
If they drive!

Maybe we can use this thread to get them to reply to the 'phonesafe' scandal as well?

No? Righto, as we were, getting ripped off by PH and Haymarket.

Sigh.

Well I can't have affected it, I'm a man of leisure, what else do you expect me to do with my spare time in this weather wink
