How do I get rid of the irritating blue pop up in the bottom right hand corner of my screen?

Why do you keep inflicting this rubbish on us?

On the mobile site perfectly positioned on top of the "what's new" button.

Haymarket: do you actually want us to leave? Just say!

AdBlock Plus gets rid of it (once set to reject all, of course!)

Yeah, right over the What's New button, great one rolleyes. How much testing did you do?

Ive caught the stupid chuffing button about 3 times now. It has at least enabled me to turn off the millions of trackers and data thieves that ply the forum with ads but now I'd like it gone please.

No doubt we will be told "no active development of this forum is taking place so don't expect anything to change" and yet there's clearly someone there putting st like this in place.

Mine doesn't.

Did you have to input something to it?

If it's sufficiently irritating, and it really is btw, then it will drive more and more to go through it and turn things off. Counter productive I reckon. Still it's Haymarket, clueless.

Is there any benefit to leaving any of it turned on? I've turned them all off.

Good GDPRS practice apparently is to have all turned off by default and encourage the user to opt in. Haymarket however............
Also, what a stupid place to put the blue box. My adblockers don't remove it either.

Wow. What a stupid thing to do.

It's bad enough that the options bar doesn't seem to work right anyway (for me, the buttons don't always work and sometimes blend into the page content). Putting that there though?

My guess is this is a precursor to being denied access to the site if you have an ad blocker.

I think the code is something standard that’s just been stuck in. I’ve seen exactly the same elsewhere (slashdot for example).

That it conflicts horribly with the mobile pages smacks of either zero testing, or tested but no resource to do anything about it.

yes

Have seen it on other sites this morning, not as badly implemented, but it seems to be a wider thing

I'm running uBlock Origin and it showed 15 blocks with all ads switched on. Switched them all off via the new (pain in the arse on mobile) privacy settings, reloaded the page and get 15 blocks!

Crikey PH, I hope all this is making someone rich somewhere.

I added "pistonheads.com##.qc-cmp-persistent-link" and it seems to have done the trick.
