The only solution at this point is for one or many of the clever people here to create their own ph, but one which is modern and maintained.

This is a critical issue, where as soon as it was identified the ads should have been removed. Balls to their income, it's a security issue. But that hasn't happened, so the people in charge here either don't care or are just clueless.

Thank you, this is probably some of the best advice on the thread. I've downloaded brave and as soon as I went to pistonheads their "shield" blocked 6 ads or trackers. I am going to carry on using it and see how it goes, although pistonheads is the only one of the sites that I use that I get any issue with.
I tried Brave - on PH it blocked 8 ads and trackers before I'd even signed in

Went to the Daily Mail site and it just blocked 6.................... Amazed....
I'm now using Brave on my personal machines but like many don't have any option on the works computers. W7 with IE and what ever blocking is installed by the company.

Biggest issue is that on my works laptop, Dell Precision M4800, PH puts so much load on the CPUs that the cooling fans kick in more heavily than when running an FE analysis.

It’s happening constantly at the moment.

Not just annoying. Massively unprofessional.

Haha, I just got half way through the (currently) 9 pages of posts on the CarGurus acquisition of PH and lo-and-behold I got the dreaded beep and pop-up scamvert. Oh how I will miss Haymarket. Not.

What are the chances we lose one bunch of clowns and just gain another bunch of clowns who are in charge who will also not do anything?

Lets hope for the best.

Hi all,

Are people still receiving these annoying pop ups? Apologies that this is still ongoing...

As you may or may not know, CarGurus has just completed the acquisition of PistonHeads! This means the future is looking bright and we'll be investigating all reported issues in the near future.

In the mean time, please do still keep posting your screen shots.

Thank you for your patience and apologies again.

Does this mean you weren't doing this in the past?

All issues were logged, and HM had turned off all ads and turned back on one by one to find out the culprit to these pop ups. They were then about to implement some new software to try and stop it all together but the sale of PH started, so the process was paused, and we're now picking this up where where it was left off.
