Forum running slow... ad related

Just clear web history and cache and it works fine - there were issues and Brave worked when other browsers didn’t

To be fair PH Classifieds have always been st. Mate of mine (also DP at a Porsche dealership) says when they run the 'stats' - the business directed from PH is virtually zilch. Can't remember what he said the "%" is but OPC website is main source of business (obviously), followed by 'walk-in's', followed by Autotrader, then lastly PH, with PH being only a very teeny weeny small percentage of Autotrader. So I think what he's trying to say is, PH has always's been st for the trade.


Now the website in whole is turning to st, so I wouldn't be surprised if some of the trade pull out..

They are in the process of flogging the site do nothing will be done st the moment.

A why should I have to when this is the only site I have issues with.

B and this is a genuine question beaus I don’t know will that mean I have to log into everything again because have the forums I use I haven’t logged I. For years which would mean the usual resetting via email.

It’s up to you but whilst I know the site shouldn’t have issues, if you want to get rid of the issues you need to do it.
You may have to log in again on forums etc. but if you save passwords saved in safari then no issues

I’ve noticed the Outbrain sponsored content is now back even when accessing via Brave. Anyone else have this, have they been watching after all and found a way round Brave’s ad blocks?

There are zero ads when browsing on Brave. On Android anyway. I only use Brave for PH now.

Is PH ever going to do anything about this?
You might reply 'Read the thread', but at the current rate of load it'll take me three hrs.
I've picked up on this Brave browser thing, but don't want to lose Chrome or have Brave take over so (with my lack of knowledge about how these things work) don't want to let the genie out of the bottle by downloading it.
I use PH through 3 devices:

Samsung phone; this is slow and I keep getting 'page is unresponsive, do you want to wait?'.
A PC and laptop, both run W10 and Chrome, but oddly the PC (which is much older) is a lot quicker than the laptop which is taking 20secs to load a page.

I really hope some bright spark starts up a breakaway forum right now.

Download and install Brave. Go to PH. Add a shortcut to your homescreen. That will then take you to PH on Brave, and you can use Chrome for everything else.

As and when I find a slow ad-laden site on Chrome, I bookmark it in Brave, and use that in future. So far, it's only PH and Mobile.de

I’m seeing the same thing - Outbrain garbage is getting through on Brave even with ‘Block Ads & Tracking’ set. If you set ‘Block Scripts’ as well that stops it but may affect other PH functionality...such as it is

Maybe the reason that no-one at PH has responded to this thread is because they have all been working furiously on a Brave-workaround, to ensure that no-one escapes the st service they want all members to suffer?

Nope made no changes whatsoever. I see the app has been updated recently though, have tried the block script setting which is successful but as mentioned may block other functionality

Definitely not seeing any ads using Brave. There does occasionally appear to be a slight pause of a second, presumably as it's doing the job of blocking gazillions of unwanted stuff, but so far it's fine. Not even the outbrain stuff is getting through.

Brave still working for me as well on android, worth uninstalling and reinstalling if ad's are still showing for some people?
