When you are barred from a thread....

I emailed Jack about my recent ban (from the prince andrew thread for posting a meme up!) and he mentioned my punishment was in line with the "ban matrix".
Maybe we would all be better off knowing what the ban matrix actually involved-especially as me an the OP didn't even know why we were banned? I actually thought I'd been banned as a mistake as it happens.
Jack mentioned I'd had previous offensive posts deleted over the years so this was the next step. What next though? Do I risk that humorous meme next time or am I going to get deleted?
The funniest one I had was being banned for repeating a post which had been made by several others (including me on a previous occasion) - mod actually accepted that it was a joke and not hate but still... banned.Maybe we would all be better off knowing what the ban matrix actually involved-especially as me an the OP didn't even know why we were banned? Another comment (mild by the standards of much I've seen got me) a permanent ban. The defining seems to be a lack of joined up thinking and, indeed, an appeals process
I think PH Forum Mods should be visible in the sense that it should say Moderator under their user name. So when they do post in open forums, people can see that it is a Mod. I am a member of many forums and in all of them Mods are clearly identified a such.
Not sure why on this forum it is a secret society.

Take my ban, I was amongst many posting humorous memes, presumably none of us thought we were posting anything that would offend and actually get us a ban.
Now, should a mod have been alerted (because standard answer of them not having the time to look at all threads) would there really have been harm in saying

Now listen here, I’ve had to delete a couple of posts, you’ve had an email to say it’s been you and if I need to do it again you’re getting banned. LOH, you’ve had posts deleted before a couple of years ago so you’re on thin ice. Everyone else, let’s keep things above board or the thread gets locked
I think something like that would be way more effective than a simple ban with no explanation. I mean I had to email in to see if it was a mistake?!Is anyone willing to expand on the ban matrix?

Mod - "dear Irocfan we've removed one of your posts which contravenes our T's & C's"
Me - "oops, apologies which post was that so I don't do the same?"
Mod - we can't tell you that!"
