I'm convinced it's not a PH problem but down to individual devices. My suggestion is to log on to PH from a friends or works PC and see what happens.
You are correct that it is down to the individual device. I think I said early on that we use a technology called Quantcast, as do many big websites out there, to fall in line with various privacy laws that have been enacted around the world. We aren't the only website where this is a problem and I've raised this issue with Quantcast to deaf ears. Basically the way they store the consent cookie on your device is buggy and the cookie they use for your consent selection gets corrupted making their code think you haven't consented or declined yet which means it will perpetually ask you. Because this is a cookie stored on your device, this is why you might experiece this on your phone but not your PC, and vice versa.
We aren't the only website with this problem with Quantcast, Mumsnet being one very similar example to us. We might look to change our CMP (Consent Management Platform) to align with what CarGurus uses (OneTrust) once we have spare engineering capacity, hopefully next year. There is also talk about whether or not these CMP platforms will still be relevant once Google starts blocking third-party cookies, though that has now been delayed to 2023.
Until then, have a look at the steps in the wiki: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
tl;dr delete cookies if you get the privacy popup on every page

Fair comment but as others have mentioned this is the only site it happens on, so using basic IT principals you'd have to look at the common factor. There's clearly something unusual about the way PH is interacting with devices and it's definitely cookie related (it cleared for me after cleaning cookies - until next time).Matt Dell said:

Erm. This website sets a 2 year Google tracking cookie (_ga) as soon as you open it, before the consent popup even appears. If you click "disagree" on the consent popup, this cookie is not removed. This is not compliant with the PECR or ePrivacy directive.PH has no legal basis to process data in Google Analytics that has been collected unlawfully. Why even bother with the consent popup? Its a waste of everyones time.
Pops up every time I log in as well and has done for a long time, I've got used to just clicking Disagree and proceeding, however the one thing I have noticed is that the 3 options...Agree / More options / Disagree, will be in the same format with Disagree at the top for several weeks, and then it will change to Agree being at the top after you have been accustomed to where it sits, almost like it's being a bit sneaky and trying to catch you out.
It's never caught me out once though.
It's never caught me out once though.

I am seeing it every time I move to another page.
Just got this too, android phone. Cleared cache. No change. Sigh.
Not trying to teach anybody to suck eggs but I fail to see how this problem can possibly be a PH problem.

I mean, of the hundreds of websites I use in a week, including a reasonable handful of forums I use or have used on at least as frequent a basis, I have far more issues with this website/forum than any other, including having never had this problem ever before. So while it might not effect all users, clearly it is also specific to this site, which for me makes its clearly a PH problem? No?
I have cleared the cache on both* phone browsers, and do not have the issue on my personal or works computer.
~Two, because PH, unlike any other website or forum, in unable to work on Brave which is my current preferred browser of choice, so I use chrome for PH and Brave for everything else. This is of cause also a Brave issue, not a PH issue. Nothing to do with this forum running ageing and poorly maintained software which has failed to keep pace with current technology, devices, software, and browsing behaviours.
~~Using ~ rather than * because the forum software can't handle the use of an asterisk to start a paragraph. Like it can handle it if you start a message with a URL rather than put some text before it.
Sigh.
