Trying to sell my car on PH but it won't let me

I'm trying to sell my car on PH Classifieds, but as soon as I put any text in the Description box it says:

'Please do not use html code, email addresses (including @), swear words, or web page links'

But there are none of these in my description. Can you assist please? I use Win 10 and Firefox, if that's relevant.

Nope. I've read the description carefully and even tried deleting it chunk by chunk, but the ruddy box won't accept anything.

Web-bods, if you know how I can get round this please advise as I want to get this listed asap. Or can I send one of you the details so you can post it for me?

Are you entering the text directly or copy/pasting from somewhere else? I have found some editors carry over hidden characters.

Your email client will probably copy as HTML. Paste from there into notepad, and the copy/paste from Notepad into PH

Just use Autotrader PH classifieds isn't somewhere I would tend to look.

This. I've had it a few times and the pasting into Notepad then copying from there remedied it

Gone with Autotrader. As said it's much better known than PH; the only advantage of the latter being I can advertise free (well that was theory!)

Have you considered that maybe the technical support staff like to have weekends off as much as everybody else?

I'm sure that if the place was on fire and the hamsters had caught rabies there might be someone on call to deal with it, but someone having finger trouble can reasonably wait until Monday morning, surely.

Thanks guys, I'm happy with Autotrader.

Another reason I assumed somebody would be able to jump on it quickly is because mods operate 24/7/365, and that is dabbling with the PH website, so I thought others might be around to dabble, tweak code or otherwise find a solution on the same basis. And PH Classifieds make money, modding doesn't.

I'm very happy to help you sort out your listing on PH if you'd still like. Your ad was failing because we don't allow some words and phrases commonly used by scammers, and we also don't reveal that list of words and phrases because that would only help guide those scammers.
