Can someone let us mere mortals know what is happening ?
Byker spends a lot of time actively posting in the forum
It seems like many other members appreciate his efforts also
Without his input we might have to rely on "fake news"
My mate Donald thinks it rife though

he was posting 10 links a day, with a day job, last time i looked at Trump thread suprised he was still posting i thought the thread wold be done.

Yes banned posters get banned. But they still coming back anyway.... multiple times it seems don't get the hints

I found his postings slightly obsessive, but welcome nonetheless, but the reasons for his ban seem arbitrary at best. Not our collective finest hour.

i thought bans were based on reports.

i think just copypasta links constantly, does lead to the news owner complaining, and like i said 10-20 a day probably was taking the piss.

Very wrong. It's an enormously diverse and interesting site. It's extraordinarily tolerant on the whole.

I really like it, but I do feel that this ban is uncharacteristic and atypical, which is why it feels so badly-judged.

I should imagine that the "news owner" would welcome the extra site traffic, seeing as this is how they raise revenue.

i've never been banned, well once on a TV Show thread, I've been here a while, never had issues with any mods or banned and had to make a new account. So not really an old boys club, it is just like everything, a limit on how much you can post before it becomes tedious and tiresome. So you support arbitrary banning of members ?

Byker had been posting in the same style for years, multiple moderators have frequented the threads, no issue.

Now all of a sudden, without warning, he's banned. So what changed?

Lets say that PH have received a C&D notice (which I doubt, given the timing of events..) why does it constitute a ban from the thread ? a warning and/or notice in the thread would suffice, even deletion of posts... but nope, a straight out ban. Its got a stench to it from whatever angle you choose...

Why now? The thread has been running for years and we’ve had mods actively contributing to it without any problems. Indeed mods have banned posters from the thread for infringements to keep the thread on track. Surely they’d have raised problems with Byker had he overstepped long before now as he’s done no different today as he’s done for years beforehand.

And why, according to PH own rules has the thread not been deleted?

Something is wrong in the State of Denmark…
