For the last few weeks, the forums have been loading as per the attached screenshot. It makes it difficult at times to read, as I need to zoom in and out. It uses to load the nice and useable mobile version, where everything fitted on the page and was easy to read (it sometimes still does load that way)

I haven't changed any settings, I'm using Brave browser, but it's the same on Chrome and it's an Android phone

We don't support Brave as a browser I'm afraid so this isn't something that we can fix on this occasion.

They're a little salty that the platform became almost unusable for a while due to the ads and a chunk of people moved to Brave.

I'm so stubborn I just put up with it.

Did you read the rest of the post? It's been doing the same in Chrome

I only switched to brave after recommendations from here, as the advert issue was a nightmare in other browsers

Apologies, I'd missed that bit of text as it was alongside the screenshot. Are you using any ad blockers on Chrome?

Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

I'm also getting this. Seemly random, hit refresh or toggle from 'my stuff' to 'whats new' and sometimes it will change, other times not.

All screen shots taken 5mins ago within a minute or two of each other.

Thanks for reporting. It looks like you're using Brave, which I'm afraid is an unsupported browser. Are you experiencing this on any other browsers?

Thanks for sharing. Are you using any ad blockers at all?

No, I have uBlock Origin installed as an add on, but it makes no difference if I turn it off.

Thanks for the additional information. Unfortunately we're unable to replicate the issue in Firefox. if you have other add ons you're running, they could affect how the site renders.

If more people are experiencing this issue then we can spend some more time investigating, so if other members are experiencing issues, please let us know.

Can you just un-support a browser in this day and age?

As here, others using native Chrome are seeing the same issue.

I'm not technical but as I understand it, it's simply not feasible for us to support every type of browser out there. We recognise that a very small number of people are having issues with Chrome but we can only invest resource into bigger problems as unfortunately we don't have the resource to investigate small bugs that only affect a few.

Well I have switched to Chrome as my mobile browser, so I shall see if I see the same or an improvement.

However clearly it does also highlight weaknesses in the coding of the forum if it cannot render correctly on a popular mainstream chromium based browser.

Yeah, the problem is it's Chromium based and not just vanilla Chromium. The Brave software built on top of Chromium is the weak link. For the most part Brave works fine, but by far the vast majority of bugs that get raised in this forum are for Brave and not for mainstream browsers like Safari, Chrome, and Firefox.

One of things Brave does, for privacy, is obfuscate what type of device is sending a request to a website. They do this in various ways, like sending different user agent strings on different requests. When they do this, it's telling us that you're using a phone when you load one page and then using a desktop on another page. This is likely what's causing the issue from OP.

Our stance is that we're not going to stop people from using Brave, but if you do use it expect bugs.
