It depends on which way you took the photo on your device.

Ideally if using a mobile phone, picture taken in Landscape format works best.

Pictures taken in Portrait format somehow get rotated if using the PH beta Upload system.

Yes you can, Ideally take the pic in a Landscape format.

Next problem seems to be that a lot of pictures taken on mobile phones are too big to load up, "beta Upload an image max size is 2MB"

so you may have to crop and save the picture on your phone to reduce the format size.

So its worth checking the image data properties on your phone before trying to post up a picture.

Just a minor correction -- ThumbSnap (which powers the "Upload an image" feature here) now supports upto 4MB and we have plans to support larger images in the near future.

Unfortunately we can't update that 2MB text in the Pistonheads popup -- perhaps someone from Pistonheads can correct it

well trying to load up a picture bigger that 2mb does not work for me!

I just tried to load up a pic 3.13mb in size and thumbsnap Said NO!

We checked this out after your post and confirmed the issue when uploading through the forum upload here.

The issue has now been fixed and you should be able to upload up-to 4MB successfully through PH forums now!

[ We'll also have much support for much larger photos (8MB+) coming within the next few days! ]

This is weird. so i signed up and paid for Photobucket and the banner is still on the photo when viewed on my PC, however when i view it on my phone its not present

I cant upload images to the site now using the "Upload an image beta". Some may say that's blessing.

Whenever I select a file, its just says no file selected

Very frustrating.

Is there an alternative?
