I am about half way through writing a book on the Lamborghini Murcielago , and am now looking for input from fellow owners , enthusiasts and dealers

The book will be published by Veloce Publications , who have previously published Joe Sackey's ''The Miura Bible ''
The Lamborghini Factory have agreed to support this project , as have some of the well known motoring magazines

If you would like to contribute photographs of (your) cars, anecdotes about the buying process and ownership delights and tribulations , have archive material , or anything else that you think might be of interest for the book , please do contact me at : murciebook@gmail.com

I am keen that the book has an inclusive and international flavour , so would be equally keen to hear from owners, enthusiast non-owners , specialist dealers, mechanics , automotive historians, clubs based both in the UK , and from wherever else in the world these wonderful cars are to be found

Please also pass on this request to others who might be interested , but who are not on Pistonheads

Thank you

I've owned Lambos for 30 years.

When I drove my Jalpa to the factory for the 30th anniversary celebrations it poured with rain much of the way. When we got there, Valentino Balboni was in the car park and topped the car's oil up. I mentioned that the targa top leaked. A lot. He said it always had but "it wasn't important". The engine, the chassis, the gearbox matter; waterproofing doesn't.

So It made me smile when I went off for the first time in my early manual Murcielago with my other half for a friend's 50th birthday weekend. It was pouring with rain. We got to the hotel and unloaded our bags from the front compartment. They were completely soaking. The car still had the Lambo DNA! Fabulous engine, chassis, gearbox; waterproofing, no!

Absolutely what makes me love my manual 6.2 Murcielago even more, as you feel the imperfections and flaws which give it the character thats unfortunately laking in the new supercars.
I love the fact that it's so simple to work on and lack of too many electronics which would require dealer visits for every small adjustment.

Thank you for all those who have replied to : murciebook@gmail.com

Your comments, anecdotes, photos , experiences etc re the Murcielago , have all gone onto the database

The Eye Surgery day job has rather impinged on the original timetable , but we are now coming up to the final stages of preparation---------I have great hopes and expectations of progress during the forthcoming enforced holiday----let's hope its not completely mis-spent in an alcoholic daze

Veloce and I are aiming for the 2018 Christmas market , which means that we need all the material to be at the publishers, by May 2018 , so any  photos of you cars , and your buying and ownership experiences are welcome.

I've had a pretty good response from UK owners(but always space for more information and photos ) , but as Veloce are aiming at a global market, any input from European, US or Canadian or Japanese or African or South American or any ROW owners would be great.

My car is an absolutely factory standard 2005 arancio atlas roadster, so it would be good to get photographs of cars which are of different body shape, colour, model, etc -----we would need high resolution images for publication , and preferably with a clear background , so that the car and its details stand out

Non factory modifications are also interesting , and if you have a car that falls into this category, do send in your info

As the book has progressed (slowly ), it has become clear to me that the book will be all the more interesting if it is a collaborative effort , with input from owners, enthusiasts, mechanics and dealers. , so please don't be backwards in coming forwards , and do tell others who might be able to contribute to this project

it would be best to e mail me on :

murciebook@gmail.com

I look forward to hearing from you , and a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
