you think an offer of £140k would be accepted on it?
fair play if so, the listing is £269k!

That doesn't look like the sort of dealership I'd be happy to hand over £269k to...............

for a 6.5 litre engine, it seems to run the same tune as the 6.2 - only 579bhp!

advert needs a good check through

You really need to ask that? Over quarter of a million pounds to a hut...

Would you rather give £269k (or even £400k if you want to stretch to the SV they have) to a small unit Ltd company in Bolton that could be gone in the morning or a multi national with links to the manufacturer? I know what one i'd choose.

You're right though, everyone has to start somewhere, but i wouldn't say near half a million pound Lambo's are 'start up' cars.

As long as you do all the necessary checks why should it matter where you buy the car from? In this case the op who owned the car has confirmed its a decent example.

Go in with your eyes open and do the relevant checks and you'll be fine.

Because the cost of an engine rebuild on one of these costs near enough the total assets of the company. What do you think would happen if it went bang in the first week?

I'm not saying it would and am sure it's a good example as the OP has stated but these things can happen and that is why me, and no doubt many others, would have concerns at buying a car like that from a dealership like that.

Los of "optimistic" prices out there at the moment but the only cars selling are those that are sensible and realistic in a depressed market place which has seen the end of meteoric rises in the past.
Reality will eventually sink in and prices will only come down as not every one can sustain sitting on expensive stock for years. Best cutting your losses and trade at todays prices

There's quite a difference between £140/150k and £270k. Are dealers like this just chancing their luck in hope of some mug paying close to asking price or is there some bigger scam going on here? It's almost as if they don't wan't to sell the car.

It’s just greed?
Dealers who last usually tell you that their mantra is little and often.

They might just find someone rich enough, who doesn't know enough and doesn't even both doing things like a HPI check for example - it has happened before, I kid you not.

They might; but most people are rich for a reason.
