Im not quite sure what this refers to TBH.

My post is a genuine one and your more than welcome to come see whats sat in my garage any time you wish and i’ll explain my reasons for a change to anyone who would listen in return for the experience and advice for what what direction to go.

Its time for a change but having only been a Porsche driver and used to its all round capabilities and decent running costs, i need good advice before i can make a proper informed decision on the car I find most appealing.

I will certainly look at the Huracan and loom for a test drive as there seem to be many good recommendations for it.

they're getting a bit tedious now tbh
Well, I guess that leaves me you are referring to? At what point was there any trolling? ‘HIS LM’ suggested a McLaren as an alternative (non-McOwner I think), and the OP posed a question in response. I answered with what I thought was factual and helpful information to help him determine if it would fit in his garage. Nothing more, nothing less. No trolling, that’s for sure.

I am here researching buying an Aventador or a Murcielago for early next year. Maybe you could share some of your expert knowledge on the subject, instead of the typical unhelpful and negative remarks that you are recognised for?

Are you still upset about being banned from the McLaren section because of the trolling you did? Hmmm, the irony.

Would that not be an issue in a ‘normal size garage’ also im concerned about there depreciation of late albeit that may be unwarranted on certain models
I'm only 20 minutes from Worcestershire (Gloucester). I'd be pleased to take you for a drive in my 720S if you like. I could try it in your garage for size. When you are looking to buy next April, there should be a lot of serious metal available within your budget.

Around next April is the plan. My current ride will have fresh MOT and oil/filter carried out. Until then it will sit under cover in the garage.

It would be a real pleasure to be offered a ride in your car, at least i would have some idea what they are like.
I previously looked at them at Rybrook in Hockley Heath, but didn't request a test drive, that was over 3 years ago mind. I bought the 991having traded in the instead.

Took a 720s out on a test drive. Fast but lacked the noise compared to a Lambo V10 and hence lost the drama a bit. Also found it very clinical inside. Cool doors though.

Thanks for that. I appreciate everyone has their own personal opinion and preference to what excites them and what they find appealing in a sportscar, thus have you driven a 991TTS and if so what would you say were the major differences that make these 2 makes/cars different/appealing?

Never owned a 991TTS but I did trade my 996TT in for my Gallardo. The difference between the 2 is night and day. Found the porsche fast and very capable but just lacked excitement and drama where as the G has that in bucket loads. If I where in your shoes I'd be looking at getting a MK1 SL. Came very close to buuying one (Check this thread https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&... ) and still wish I held out for a good one.

Noise is definitely something the McLaren's lack a bit - even with a sports exhaust - although I guess that's going to be an issue for most modern turbo charged engines. I find mine adequate (sports exhaust) especially if I have the rear window lowered. But NA Ferrari / Lambo are on another level.

Agree about 911 turbos.

As explained, with no experience of Lambo’s it took a few threads to find out what a MK1 SL was laugh
At first i thought you were trying to entice me into a Mercedes!!

So, a Mk1 is a Gen1 Superleggera? In that thread you linked theres are also arguments against this model and in the car sales section of PH the prices are all over the place.
I can only liken this to a person with no knowledge of 911’s looking at a 997s & a 997GTS and wondering why the prices are so different. I need to get my head around the options and model variations.

Your best bet is to call Lamborghini Pangbourne and speak to Craig or Max, as they might know of a good one for sale.

OP are you thinking of the new car going to the ‘ring?

A Lambo v12 at full chat there would be a very special thing... but also very rare!
