Is it true that the S sounds better than the SVJ?

Can't comment on the S but I was disappointed overall with the sound of the SVJ, My SV had the sports exhaust upgrade which was basically fancy mapping and it sounded awesome, best sounding car I've ever owned.

I didn't think the SVJ sounded as good as my Performante Spyder.

Agreed, theres not a lot that tops the sound of the Perf, the pops and crackles are out of this world.

The problem with SVJ is that its quiet at normal speeds, all the other modern Lambo's the valves fully open as standard in some modes or they have optional software to do that.
SVJ the valves don't open until halfway up the rev range in any mode and so despite it being louder than say an SV at full whack you are very rarely moving at a speed where you can get to appreciate or enjoy the noise.

That makes sense, would you choose the SVJ over the SV?

Likewise @Gameface, would you choose the perf over the AV?

I've got an Aventador and a Performante Spyder and the Performante is just so much more usable.

Size, gearbox, cabin, engine noise are all better. Faster too seemingly.

Aventador has the proper doors and gets more attention but the Performante doesn't exactly pass by unnoticed. laugh

Yea I totally get that, the perf is so easy to drive - and quickly too, The way it handles makes you think you're an absolute driving God. The AV whilst much more of an event, I found on mine that it was hard work to drive for anything over an hour - you really have to wrestle with that car.

Good to see your still here mate smile

Would love to own an aventador but my garage is not long or wide enough. My Perf fits....just.

I seriously considered it, but the wall the window would need to go in is a supporting wall (and has a lot of the house security system in it) so I couldn't be bothered with the extra grief.

Yea I get that, sometimes the want doesn't out weigh the headache and potential cost to do so.

Excellent.
I had to take a chunk out of the wall to get my Murci in.
Luckily it was an old Cotswold stone wall, so plenty thick enough.
However, needed to build a new garage for the AV.

As it's been covered, there are simply not many V12 Lambo owners. Nor, have the time and desire to pop onto a forum. At the same time most AV/Muci & Diablo owners tend to be more in their prime and struggle with whatsapp let alone signing up to a BB, setting up a profile to chat to randoms. Think of the generation above yours and then think how they would cope with a [PIC] tag! PH like most other BB's can be a nasty place.

V12's are not cheap, the ones that can do a [PIC] tag are too young to accumulate enough money or maybe lack desire for a V12.

So you are left with a small pool, that probably run into a tech issue and the rest cant afford one. Perfect storm. At least with the Fez forums that small pool is considerably larger. Lambos whist it may not seem it to Lambo owners, are still a very rare car. Many people have never seen one. I cant see the Pagani or Koenigsegg forums being that active either.

Take HML - The most popular Lambo car, the Urus - 449 OTR. Fez - there are some 5/6 models in excesss of 449 OTR.

Plus the V12 crew is too busy out cruising with the doors up enjoying themselves biggrin At the same time a modern Lambo doesn't really have too many issues unlike MACs talking about their panel gaps and warranty claims and Fez's talking about residual values if it isn't red. The most interesting thing on Lambo forums is helping someone choose a spec!

Its a good thing, but unfortunately a lonely place however when Lambo owners are out to represent they do so in a far higher percentile than most other marques smile

In further comments to your post here's a gratuitous pic of my old SV roadster smile.

As I said earlier this sounded amazing, as any true petrol head will agree sound attributes to the whole parcel and is a big part of the overall supercar experience, I think you get that with any Lambo, the tingles making you feel like a little boy again on start up, the same just can't be said for certain other marques.

SV feels more special at non silly speeds partly because of its flaws, after the many years of updates its a lot easier to use as a road car now than it started out, corsa was initially so aggressive it was not really for road use at all.

SVJ is a better car all round and feels good on the road, much better to drive hard, it's sort of halfway between the earlier Aventadors and a Huracan. Feels a little magic has been lost over SV though because its now more rounded and doesn't have as many querks and better behaved.

Depends on what you want:
To keep, SV and for very occasional use
To actually use regularly now SVJ although its rear visibility is annoying as you could literally have a police car behind you with lights and sirens on and you probably wouldn't know!

What’s the difference between Sport and Corsa on the Aventador S? Is it true that Sport is set up to use less of the 4WD so that it drives more like a rear wheel drive? And do these settings also alter the rear steering angles?

IIRC the modes simply changed the gearbox and throttle maps along with stiffening/softening of the suspension.

The main flaw with the AV was that you wanted the speed of the gearbox change with Corsa but with all the sound and drama of Sport, even with EGO mode you couldn't achieve this.

I could be wrong but I don't think the AVS was that technologically advanced that it could adjust the 4wd or rear steering angles, despite the introduction of 4WS on the S it was all based upon revamped old technology.
