Mike reckon they drove like an Austin Cambridge fully loaded with kids and camping gear!!!
A little harsh Jim, I have driven both but not with the camping gear or kids aboard,

I drove a Daytona that was for sale at Maranello's for £19,950, yes it was some years ago.

Never meet your hero's came to mind so wearing my rose tinted glass's as didn't want to be disappointed.

The steering is heavy and a little vague at slow speed , Like wise the clutch is heavy in traffic but you wouldn't be go shopping in one

Doesn't wake up till your on the open road, heading down to the south of France would be perfect.

Loved ever minute of driving it but makes the Countach feel like a go-kart

Trying to imagine Mike behind the wheel of a Austin Cambridge .driving

Missed the opportunity when my friend owned one around 20 years ago,

Don't know anyone else who would entrust me driving their million pounds plus pride and joy.

I obviously don't mix with the right crowd nono

Seeing as my friend couldn't sell it at the time for £100K i'm sure he would have let me me drive it if i had asked..

Have mentioned this before ,it started off in several box's and he paid £40K and did most of the restoration himself,

Might sound silly now but when he couldn't sell it he swapped it for 3 cars plus some money .

The new owner entered it in Coy's were it didn't sell, The building next door to Coy's storage caught fire and the car suffered

smoke damage and got slightly singed with one or two things melting including the rear lights.

It was then restored again after the owner bought the savage back from the insurance company,

Don't know were it is now, maybe it's still with the same owner unless anyone knows any different.

Don't suppose you have one hidden away amongst your collection that you've kept quiet about that

i could drive,rolleyes

I believe Mike Lake also had a Miura at the time he owned the Countach and Daytona.
As well as a 308 GTB, a Fiat Dino Spyder (which I did see one time, whilst it was being serviced ready for a mate of his to borrow for the summer!), and a Fiat 130 Coupe. Quite possibly other things as well. Someone else I knew at that time said that Mike was thinking about buying a '60s or '70s Maserati as well, I don't know if he did.

I was also once told that when Mike was getting divorced he had cars in garages around London that even his wife didn't know about! hehe

What happened did she find out about the two girls in the Daytona or his trip to Rome, smokin

Certainly got good taste in cars, besides the Countach lets hope he was able to keep them through the divorce,

My ex-wife use to say to me i hope you are polishing my half of the Ferrari.grumpy

Had to sell all my cars to buy her out of the house and start again but at least i got the kids. A long two years in the wilderness

wouldn't wish that on any car guy.

Hi all Countach lovers!

Have you all heard about this?

The Classic - Silverstone

Did you know that it's the Lamborghini Countach's 50th birthday this year?
To celebrate, a record turn-out of them will be at The Classic ❤️
https://www.silverstone.co.uk/.../celebrating-50-y...

There is going to be a club stand and all the cars will be parked together at the stand.
There will be other models there but I don’t know which ones as yet.
There will be hospitality at the stand, tea coffee etc and there is a BBQ in the evening for which there will be a small charge.
There is no track time as it ids a full race calendar so it will be a parade lap. Also being recognised on the day will be the 60th of the E Type, the Triumph Stag and the Delorean.

If anyone is able to bring a car then tickets will be provided free of charge.

If interested please let me know..

All the best,
Marcel

I’m not sure if you can still get a ticket. Speak to Lynn at LCUK if you want one. She may be able to get you one. (Unfortunately I can’t make it.)

Mlmran's brothers so they claim.also they say they were used in 1982 Monaco Grand Prix,

Could have been a lot more. But seems the club were late to the party on this one. In fact, to me and others I’ve spoken with, the UK club were not interested at all. Lets hope that Lambo make more of a song and dance about.

I’m not sure that that’s correct.
Lynn was still trying to get tickets for people right up until the last moment.
I just couldn’t make it unfortunately.
