I see that Harry Metcalfe removes or adds the wing when he sees fit.
Could someone tell me how this is done? does it not leave holes that you need to plug?
I believe that he has two boot lids; one with the wing and one without.
He would ,does everything properly does our Harry

Eddie Irvine imported a low body LP400 a wee while back. Seems to have a unique side skirt design.

I believe either Koenig or Strosek had a similar skirt design on their kit along with an additional wing on the front as per Cannonball Run.

Wasn't that front 'wing' considered, in certain U.S. states, an acceptable 'bumper' to get past low speed collision regulations, or something..?

It probably did no favours to aero, or looks, but I think it's still better and more sporty and exciting looking than the huge 'bumpers' that were fitted to some U.S. Countachs!

are US owners allowed to take off those horrible front and rear plastic lumps off, due to some classic/historic car rules? or good taste

was hoping they had all been ripped off now

Yes they would be now as the age threshold has been exceeded, cars can revert to Euro spec (or Euro spec cars can be taken in to the US). On the Anniversary though the rear light design was worldwide so I guess no way of changing that for the more classic look.

Beautiful. It has been great to follow progress on Instagram. The description in the ad barely does the work justice.

So why do I see some still for sale with these hideous appendages, surely no one actually likes them?

Thanks for sharing that! He wasn't hanging about; that driver view footage towards the end was great. What a car, it does you great credit.

Simon Furlonger had the 'oringinal and best ' in my opinion.... LGF849N ,, or JYH928N as i remember it... sadly they should have left it in tahiti blue and tan, the original spec...god knows why they didnt.

I'm not sure it was their decision..?

Also, I read somewhere that it was painted silver before its current Miura orange.

Either way, I agree that it looked epic in tahiti blue.

Edit to say: I've seen it in the metal in its current colour, and I think it looks great, and immaculate!

I had a passenger ride in that car around 1992, was one of the best days of my life! smile
