Do you still have these vehicles? I have the exact same pair (almost) - Red 308GTS and Black Jalpa (no spoiler though!)

Hi Raymond,

I am the current owner of the car that was registered B491 FGC.

It now carries the registration number B5 BUL, when I bought it the car it had a nasty Northern Irish registration so I found the current number for it.

Here is a recent picture of it

If you would like any more details please feel free to ask on here or PM me.

Regards,

Robin

Hi,

I'm pretty sure this car was previously owned long term by an owner in Liverpool, and then sold to a chap in Birmingham in the early 2000's, if so

then its the car I went to buy with him for £11,000 if I recall correctly, I seem to remember the original number and it was he who changed it

to OJI ? or something, as that plate was on his fathers car, so he kept it in his memory.

It was the favourite car of his collection and he had it serviced, initially, by a specialist in Birmingham and then Terry Keys, it was with them when he sadly

died in his early 30s and subsequently sold by Silverstone Auctions.

I remember the car with great fondness for the times we had in it together, not quite believing we were cruising round in a rocky lambo. It was a

lovely car, the owner in Liverpool had quite a large car collection and simply did not use it, so its mileage was low. Once up and running after the

usual post recommission niggles it was very reliable and a bit of a beast compared to the delicate 308 / 355 he had also It is great to see it again.

Best

Sanjay

I also ran a 308 GTS alongside my Jalpa,

The Jalpa felt more of a brut ,probably because of the engine having more of a deeper hairy chested note

and the gearbox had more of a straight cut type of wine to it making the 308 feel more like a pussycat in comparison.

The 308 was more nible and precise though and the engine spun around like a sewing machine.

Paid £10K for the Jalpa running on seven cylinders, turned out to be a waterlogged plug well due to the previous

leaving it outside for a few wet winter months, ten minutes with a high pressure hose and she was firing back on all eight,

A RHD car but was reimported from Germany where it had been part of a large museum collection by it's previous owner.
