1990/91 reg number on a 1984 car?

Not sure why, but I much prefer a Silhouette to a Jalpa. Surely it isn't just the wheels that make all the difference?

Well my local DVLA office ok'd the use of J40 LPA on my 1986 car. So I bought it, had plates made and was driving around, for a couple months.

Then the Bods in Swansea wrote to me and said , take it off.

Hi,

Total newbie here. I'm doing some research for a friend on his 1977 Urraco P300 #20530. He believes it may have been registered in the UK at one time. I did see on another forum the line "Oops I did it again....." and this chassis number was the subject of the car that a member had bought for restoration. However, it was LHD and it's now RHD. Can anyone tell me how to check the UK reg no. from the chassis number please? He wants to register it in the UK again & it seems there's a different process if it was registered previously or not. The car is outside the UK right now.

Thanks in advance!

#20530 rings a Bell, I owned this project for a short time, 2007-2008, perhaps that was even myself posting, but not sure.

*1060*763* 15.11.1977 national motors, hong kong
It was long time in Switzerland and I sold it in 2008 to Germany.
I know it only as LHD, but the factory records show it as RHD...

Perhaps we should sync and exchange pictures.

My pics taken at Brooklands back in August 2017....

I absolutely love what Bertone did with all of their Lamborghini designs, the shapes, proportions and surface dressings (or rather, the lack of) were all bang on the mark. Digressing slightly but I've been looking into Stratos replicas, in particular the Lister Bell one and they've captured the typical Gandini touches of the original beautifully. That late '60s / '70s period must have been a great time to work at Bertone and Lamborghini (sigh....).

That's interesting! If it is the same car & it's found its way back to HK & RHD. Was the date you showed of 15.11.1977 the date of first registration by any chance? That's the key piece of information we are searching for, with evidence to validate it. Any help you can provide most gratefully received. Certainly happy to synch & exchange pictures, with the current owner's permission, of course!

The one to the right is known, the Japanese Brochure car (DLA12052), the grey one is unidentified yet.
These are the only two Jalpas in Japan you can see quite often although there are about a dozen in the country of the rising sun.

I looked at this Urraco back in 2007, but couldn't quite get to the sellers valuation of £10k (!!)

The chassis plate is in the attached picture but I cannot make the number out. I will check the correspondence of the time to see if the chassis number is quoted anywhere. Sorry not very useful !
