Sorry for the poor quality.
This was my wedding Espada in January 1976.
Is it still around?

Thanks Adam - hadn't seen that! Will remember for next time!

Bob - best I could do to adjust the colour to clean up the image a bit.

Great period pictures!

The Espada is #9256, white exterior, blue interior according to the factory records. This is the first after-production trace I've for that car.

Thanks for clearing the photo of my wedding car, it looks much better.

Ex demo car TGC55M

Does anybody know where this one is?
My old demo car used to be yellow. Sold at auction in 2012 for £28K when painted blue.
The DVLA show the car still being yellow. It was last on the road in 2015? But the MOT history shows corrosion problems.

I can provide some information about the Espada S2 UK registered MDD 439P

My father bought this car in UK and owned it in the 80s for few years and drove it quite often in France near Paris where we lived.
I can confirm It was a metallic green with black leather. This car despite being registered in UK was a LHD.

A full restoration started by the end of the 80s and the car was supposed to be repainted in Bianco Isis. I lost track of this car more than 30 years ago but would be delighted to gather further information like the chassis # and where this Espada now is if anyone know.

This is an interesting Series 2 Espada.
MDD439P was registered in the Uk in February 1976. The series 2 was replaced in 1973 by the series 3.

Lamborghini GB did have a series 2 green LHD Espada come into the UK in 1973. I remember it because I got a speeding ticket in this car!

However this car was purchased by an overseas customer and I had to take it out of the country via Dover and back in via Folkestone to reclaim the import duty on this car. The car left the UK in 1973.

I wonder if it is the same car and if it returned to the UK in 1976 and was UK registered. The registration system was different then, although it was probably manufactured in 1972/73 it got a 1976 registration.

From DVLA records there is nothing recorded since the road tax expired on 1st December 1983. I expect that the car left the UK for good some time before or around this date.
I will make an enquiry to see if any records still exist for this car.

Hi Bob the Cop,
Thank you very much for your input and always glad to get more information about this car !
Really appreciate your feedback

I assume MDD439P was imported in 1976 from Europe

I have had some discussions regarding this Espada and can confirm that it is not the same car that was brought into the UK in 1973 and then exported.
Therefore this car would have been registered outside of the UK when new and received it's 'P' registration upon entering the UK in February 1976.
I only have access to records of some of the cars that came direct to the Uk when new and this car was not one of those.

We know that the car left the Uk around 1983 so where was it between 1976 and 1983? Did your father purchase the car in France or the UK? Why was the car, as pictured, still on UK number plates if your father resided in France?

I expect that you need to know the answer to these questions as well. If you find any more information I would be interested to know the story.

"What colour would you like sir".........Heathmans (Parsons Green) Circa 1986. The cheap cars were kept outside in the yard......LOL!!! A week prior to this photo, two were sold and then there was only five..... Those were some interesting times.

Hi Bob the Cop,
Again, thanks for the input.
The car was purchased in England and the UK registration was kept for financial purpose and also because we had an address in London.
1983 could be the year my father bought it but i still have to dig into more details to confirm this point.

Anyway, thanks a lot for your help !

With regard to MDD 439P.

I saw the car was reguarly at Oulton Park race circuit early 80s - I have photos.

Around 1981/2 it was advertised for sale and the owner was based in Cheshire.

The car also attended the first Supercar Test day organised by Carrera Sport at Goodwood in July 1982, where the owner advertised the car for sale.

I recall a slipping clutch off the Goodwood start line.

I also recall another LHD met green Espada in Cheshire in Lymm in the late 1970s garaged on a new build estate.

i cannot recall the registration, but have a photo which needs enlargement to establish the registration.

It may well have been the very same car.

Oh trust me I'm tempted, alas my current toy budget is around a tenth of the asking price....!

It's definitely encouraging though that every time it appears in one of Iain's videos, it's been moved around the worksop, not stuffed into a dark corner gathering dust.

He's recently completed a full engine rebuild on Harry Metcalfe's car. Some great videos on Harry's Garage YouTube channel and Iain's own channel. I just need the bloomin' Euromillions to come through and I can realise a childhood Bertone dream...

Doesn't seem a ridiculous price, or am I mad?
